'So it's basically a buff, but compared to Neutral flame it's quite a bit lacking. Though I'll probably use it and level it up. There's no harm.'

After 20 mins of sprinting through the forest of the Low Level area, Ace arrives in front of a Goblin encampment. He quickly hides behind some big bushes be for planning his assault.

He pushes the green leaves aside in order to form a hole to begin his surveillance of the encampment.

There was huts built from from wood and stone, there're were about 8 of them in total all spaced out in a circle around a big stone fire pit filled with ashes. Based off the view of no movement, he would have believed it long abandoned until a group of them returned to the camp.

Standing around 5 feet tall with heads full of messy hair, pale green skin and slightly pointed ears. The goblins closely resemble humans but with vastly different structures. They brandished crudely made weapons and armor, some in good shape they either stole or lifted off poor Wielders corpses.

'This outta be easy. This groups alone will help me finish my requirements for my mission.'

Ace then equips about a meter long purplish white sword from his inventory before heading into the goblin encampment.

[Name]: Indigon Short Sword

[ATK]: +50

[Description]: A basic short sword made of Indigon.

[Effect]: N/A

Seeing the sun shine off the blade of the sword showed Ace just how precious Indigon was on Nova. Being a metal natural found and mined on Nova, it was coveted by many especially the top powers on Nova. It was bewildering that the Den gave him a such a precious sword, but he wasn't one to complain.

"There's no better starter weapon than a free one. Time for goblins."

Ace springs out of the bushes at full speed brandishing his sword at the goblin most close to him. Being F ranked creatures their power wasn't high but their biggest assets was their intelligence and made them comparable to a high E rank enemy.

*Flame's Touch* Active

Before slashing at the unexpecting goblin he activated his primary active skill. As his blade was engulfed in a bright red-orange flame Ace slashed at the goblin's neck, hoping to sever it, with all his might. Before he even came close he saw the time around him freeze as if everything around him paused mid action.

"What is going on here? Why did everything stop?"

Ace was genuinely confused and annoyed because his subsequently easy mission was brought to a halt by a random force.

*DING*

"CONQUER'S VOW INITIATED. NOW INCREASING MISSION DIFFICULTY. MAINTAIN THE VOW!"

A new mission screen popped up as this cold, deep, and metallic voice finished its announcement. Though change wasnt bad, this one wasn't necessarily good either. Ace's eyes widen in horror mixed with a slight excitement as his heart pumped hard as he read over each line

With a slash of his Indigon Short spear, nicholas makes quick work of the Shadow Hawk, and received enough EXP to push him to LVL 5. If a person walking by looked closely at Nicholas, they'd see a faint purple glow hidden under his left eye.

After a quick status check Nicholas is inwardly over joyed because he reached the required lvl to unlock his Wind Manipulation. Though it wasn't a flashy skill, honestly it was over looked because all Wielders of the different elements unlock some form of elemental control.

*ring, ring*

Nicholas' joy was soon brought to a an abrupt end when he saw the caller ID. It was from 'J', only the lowest depths of hell and the tallest pillars in heaven knew what this person wanted. He quickly answered to hopefully end this reoccurring nightmare.

"Hello, Nick. I see you've unlocked your Manipulation skill, oh how exciting. Congrats on LVL 5, my boy."

The voice over the phone was deep and clear yet extremely fond of Nicholas as it spoke to him, as if there was no wrong he can do.

"Have you found out if he has the Bearer's Mark? Or are you too busy enjoying your awakening?"

Nicholas' tan skin was flushed with all color upon hearing J's question. He swallowed silently as his heart began beating harder knowing that how sweet and caring the voice sounded, a task was a task and he wasn't completing it.

"N-…No I'm not, sir. I inspected him and he is the one. Though he doesn't seem to know much about the world's current events nor about the lost temple."

Nicholas stammers through his sentence hoping that his update will suffice and he can continue his training.

"Hmmm good good, you must quickly reach lvl 10 and come back to Gale's Palace to bond with the panther. It's young right now so it would be the best time, hurry if you want to become his eyes and ears."

*click*

Gazing at the flashing screen Nicholas looks extremely pressured and distraught.

'Damn I'm running outta time. I've got to hurry before he gets anxious, then we're all screwed.'

While thinking of the carnage from a anxious 'J', Nicholas runs off to the entrance of the Low Level area to return to the Den and turn in his mission.

**************************************************

Back at the Den in a spacious office, where the walls are lined with many weapons of different types, sits a man dressed in all gray playing with a floating ball of water. His other hand was where his head rested giving off a aura of boredom which unique and unrefined. He had soft blue green eyes that reminded one of sea water, and long curly hair pulled back into a bun.

*knock, knock*

He turned his chair around after hearing the knocking at his door and dissipated the ball of water as if it never existed.

"Please do come in."

He spoke in a elegant manner with a soft yet cheery voice, making him seem like he was completely unphased with the world.

Upon hearing the invitation, Lizzandra steps into the office of the man looking puzzled.

"Now why do you stare at me like that, you know I'm frail."

The man feigned like he was hurt by Lizzandra ghastly stare and acted like he was near fainting. Soon lay there motionless as if his life ceased at that very moment.

"Oh quit the melodramatic act, it's not cute at all. Plus you're pushing 140, though you don't look a day over 25. I'm here because I wanna know why had me give that Rank F a Indigon Short sword! You know those are reserved for people who complete their A+ rank test, right?!"

He soon smiled at Lizzandra's frustrated words and sat up. He look like he was a cat playing with a ant, it sent a cold shiver down her spine as her gaze dropped to the floor and sweat permeated her forehead. He soon manifested another ball of water , just twirling it in mid air.

"Have you ever heard "For every action, there's a reaction"?

Lizzandra rolled her eyes, unanswering the mans vague question. Though she didn't answer cause she didn't know, in fact she well knew this phrase because it was something he would say frequently. The man just smiled and played with the floating water ball and continued his explanation.

"Well that young Wielder you met, and I promise you, will be the peak embodiment of those words. Though his version will be how he views you based off your first impression. Now why wouldn't I want to get ahead on that?"

Hearing the man's explanation Lizzandra's pupils widen with curiosity and a little fear. Upon all her days for working for Den Master after Den Master never had she seen one act so precautious in regards to a Rank F. Actually in the history of Nova, it was completely unheard of.

'Just who is this kid, and why is the Den Master so intent on making good with him?'

Lizzandra's questions echoed throughout her mind as her heart couldn't accept this catered treatment to a low rank. Though back in the office, while she was deep in though, the Den Master just rested his head in his hand still playing with the ball of water. He was smiling to himself as if he was pleased with the course of action he decided to take.
