"Find the students, kill the weaklings, capture the strong," It was Golv'ik Geldst, Uri's older brother. He stayed low as they began spreading out before a scream made him turn. It was Kelly. She hadn't gotten to a dorm building in time and an Oik man had caught her.
"Chief, I found a young one to use as an example," He was aided by a second man as they dragged her to the center of the square and Uri's brother and his younger sister walked towards Kelly.
"She will do," Uri's hand was forced and he emerged from the bushes and got the Oik attackers' attention, "Is that? Brother, is that Uri'ost?" The two war painted figures that stood at the front of the group sniffed the air, "It is him, brother, that is his smell."
"I agree, Hel'esti, that is our little brother," The taller figure pointed him out, "All grown up and he has already infiltrated a mage school, all on his own," The small group of Oik fighters cheered, "Brother, you are alive," Golv'ik grinned, "I can't believe you have infiltrated this place, join us in our march of cleansing."
"No, let her go," Uri replied, "If you hurt her, I will kill you all," His threat got a howling laughter from his older brother who could barely take him seriously.
"Join us or die, brother," His little sister replied menacingly as Uri's older brother recovered from his laughing fit, "She will die first, your magic will not do anything against our magic, Sham' Bo," A magical aura formed around her as she took a better grip on her maces and rushed at Uri. It was time to finally unleash the magic that Uri had taught himself. Hel'esti leaped into the air as she lunged at Uri, "Die!"
"Now, let me take over for you, Uri Geld," The voice came to him once more and his body gained an armor aura to form around it before his hand caught his sister's neck and stopped all of her momentum in the air. His hand began to crush her neck as the rage that he had towards the men who were trying to harm his girlfriend had been fueled and amplified by the magic he was using. Hel'esti couldn't understand why his magic was getting through her magic, her Oik anti-magic. Blood splattered around him as he dropped his murderous sister's body to the ground limp and dead. Kelly looked on in horror as the armor was now covering all of Uri's body and he looked like nothing but a murderous machine and not someone she had fallen in love with, "I can allow your body to exceed your limits but it will cost you," Uri nodded as he had already accepted that disregarding his own security and wellbeing to protect Kelly would be worth it.
"Let her go," The 8 other Oik men looked towards their leader, Uri's older brother for orders, "Or suffer her fate," A finger pointed at the dead Oik woman on the floor as Uri's voice was changing and was getting more and more distorted. Golv'ik pointed at the armor wearing mage and they all charged at him, blindly and enraged. A glowing blade appeared in his hand as he readied himself to fight the Oik men. The first Oik man was caught by the armored mage's left hand before the right hand plunged the blade deep into his skull and then withdrew it as his limp body crumpled to the ground. The next Oik to reach him were a pair of men who both lunged forward before the blade slashed through them cleanly. The next three arrived behind them and were able to land a few hits on the magical armor surrounded Uri, his body moved on its own as the blade decapitated one of them and then his left elbow snapped one of the Oik's head back so far that it snapped his neck and toppled him as his leg sweeped the legs of the third Oik and then slammed violently into the fallen warrior's chest and the sound of bones crunching preceded his body going completely limp. There were only two more Oik warriors left and then his older brother. The Oik threw their spears at the life mage but that did little to nothing to Uri's armor as they shattered upon contacting the armor. Fear seemed to not be something they had as they threw themselves at the armored man only to be caught, one by a hand and the other by the edge of a blade, midair before both falling dead to the ground, one cleaved and the other meeting the same end as Hel'esti had when she leapt at Uri. The angered mage continued to walk towards his older brother as Kelly took the chance and ran away from the Oik chief. The two stared at each other as Golv'ik held his sword resting on his shoulder. He was taller than Uri and didn't seem fazed by his magical opponent's massacring of his men. The younger brother lunged forwards and attacked.
"You have let them corrupt your mind, Uri'ost, you are killing your brothers and sisters!" His blade slammed against Golv'ik's blade and bounced back, "You are losing yourself to these weaklings!" He roared as his foot hit the dark armor in the chest and shoved Uri back. The young mage quickly got up and he was now locked in a duel with his brother, "Join me, brother, you are a powerful man, a very powerful Oik," Golv'ik grinned and his eyes were filled with rage and made him look insane, "We could control everything, you would make the Oik proud! We would be the dominant group once more!"
"You are the mind washed one, brother, I have no intention of joining you, I will kill you," Golv'ik laughed and then struck the armor once more as he was clearly the superior blademaster, his skill balancing the drastic difference of magical ability between the two brothers. Throwing a punch to counterattack his older brother's attack, Uri's fist clipped the Oik chief and staggered him before making him fall back. Golv'ik rolled back as he landed on the ground and stood up once more. It seemed to have done almost nothing to him and if it had done something significant, it didn't show.
"There you go, no need for magic there, just a good old fight," Uri glared through the small gap for his eyes, they met his brother's crazed eyes, "You killed our sister, you killed our brothers and now you want to kill me, you have been so twisted by these people, they want to destroy you!" Their blades clashed once more before Uri kicked his brother's knee before bringing his other knee to his head. The magic was starting to increase his body's power, "Look at what you are doing, I want to make you powerful! I can make you into this world's king! Would you not want that?" Golv'ik shouted before he spat blood and a pair of teeth to the ground. Uri continued to move towards him, his rage was taking over entirely and the Oik chief's death was all he wanted. The Oik blade bounced off his armor before Uri grabbed his brother by the neck and lifted him, "Brother... You are lost..."
"Quite the opposite, I have found meaning in my life, I have found myself and decided that protecting those around me is important, more important than your ideals," He slammed his older brother into the ground and cratered the stone pavement with the Oik chief's body. Blood covered his gauntlet as his brother's body coughed it up, "You threatened that part of my life, now you pay," He watched the Oik chief's body twitch in pain as he tried to move.
"Uri? Wh-What is that?" He heard Kelly's voice from behind him, "Wh-Who are you?" Uri removed the helmet and the armor dissipated around him, "What was that?"
"Kelly," He hugged her, "Are you alright?"
"More scared than anything, Uri," He turned back to the gate, "What are you thinking about?"
"There are more Oik," He claimed as his eyes turned red and his magic began to detect many life forms outside of the academy walls, "Please, get to one of the dorms, you'll be safer," Kelly hesitated, "Don't worry for me, I will be safe, I promise," She nodded and hurried towards the dorm buildings, the closest being the nature dorm. The armor returned to Uri's body as he headed towards the gate, before stopping and looking at his brother, "What is the Oik tradition for dying warriors?" He asked as he stood over him and the armor finished forming around his body.
"Dying..." His brother wheezed, "In... battle..." Uri reformed his blade before slamming it down. The armor was removing all of the moral or personal barriers he had or could've had when it came to that type of violence, it was acting for him and draining it from his mind, the essence of domination was taking over that part of his magic.
"There are many of them, Uri," The voice warned.
"Can you take care of it?"
"Your body is a quality vessel and I wish not to harm it."
"If you don't stop them, I will not have a body to host you," He replied as he jogged down the empty streets of the market district, "So use it or lose it."
"Very well, Uri, you leave me with no choice but after this, I will not meddle with your body, I wish not to lose my host," The young mage nodded as he felt his body leave his control. He turned and ran towards the gate, ten Oik attackers decimated behind him. There were many attackers on the outskirts of the academy and their anti-magic was more than enough to make the powerful mages struggle to keep them at bay. A bow formed in Uri's hand as he continued to run, "Kill them all," He thought to himself as his body, controlled by his magic, drew a pair of arrows and aimed up, using his body as a vessel to act. The pair was let loose and they soared into the sky before being brought down and landing against two Oik attackers, killing them instantly. He reformed his blade as he started running once more, his loud armor was banging as he ran. The strange and out of place noise made Ms. Hollow turn. She spotted the black armor as the fire bombs and arrows the Oik attackers used still rained down upon them.
"What is that?" She asked herself as the black armor ran down the street towards them. Uri spotted one of the Oik fighters that was slowly advancing onto the Mage Haven Academy campus and charged into them as he broke the line of the campus and took the Oik attackers head on. The colossal weight of his magical armor killed one of them on contact before pulling the attention of the others as their ranks were breached by a crazy armor wearing being, "Benjamin!" The headmaster turned and spotted the armored figure that began cleaving through the fragile mage hunters' bodies and left them dead on the ground, "What is that?" Uri's crazy charge had pulled all of the attention and left the teachers wondering what on earth they were seeing while also getting them out of harm's way.
"I don't know, I have never seen something like that."
"So, um, is that on our side?" Ms. Rosewood asked as she approached the headmaster, "What do we do?"
"Let it kill the Oik, I may be against that type of thing but do we have a choice?" He looked away as the visible decapitation of an Oik man made one of the fire teachers turn and throw up, "Whatever or whoever that is has explaining to do once it is out of that frenzy state."
"That is horrific," Uri's body was not in control of his actions and he let his armor and weapons cleave through the mage hunters, slashing and smashing them into lifeless corpses until there were only a handful of them left. Each blow dug the magical blades deep into the Oik fighters' bodies and sometimes completely through them as his body was screaming in pain with each movement but the pain wasn't reaching his brain yet. His rage was acting as a massive painkiller that prevented his body's limitations from kicking in. The weapons disappeared and formed a pair of crossbows that fired and killed all the retreating and fleeing Oik attackers. He looked around and saw the piles of dismembered and dead bodies, did he win? Uri looked at the teachers and spotted the headmaster walking towards him. Forbidden knowledge in his possession and having slaughtered a large number of people, there would surely be grave consequences. He removed the helmet, expecting to be able to simply walk as he had when he embraced Kelly but instead his vision went blurry and he felt his legs give out beneath him, causing him to fall forwards, "Rest is more than likely necessary for you, young mage, you did well," The voice left him with a parting message as his mind shut off.
"Is that Uri?" One of the teachers pointed out. His limp body was rolled over and his blank eyes stared up at the sky.
"Is he dead?" Ms. Rosewood rushed to his side as Headmaster Solven knelt next to him and felt his neck before shaking his head.
"Return to the academy, make sure we have everyone and that the students are still safe," The other teachers hurried back to the main part of the academy as Uri lay his eyes still and his body limp, "What do you think?"
"His body is slow, his heartbeat is very low but his breathing seems reasonable and he isn't in risk of dying, yet."
"We should bring him back and then I will have to investigate what on earth that magic was," He looked back at the school, "We need to get everything in order back at the academy."
"Guardian Call," A large angel appeared and lifted Uri from the ground and walked with the two teachers as they headed back to the academy, "Wasn't he an Oik, Benjamin?"
"He was, he killed all of the Oik attackers but," The headmaster looked at the limp young man, "I have never felt that type of murderous rage from Uri, something isn't right here, this will need further investigation to understand."
