Chapter 64 - Why not?

As Athena and the two Gaias playfully teamed up to engage Kyn during their shopping spree in Athens, another figure had been assigned to keep an eye on the unfolding situation. Lyra, who had been tasked by Drax to monitor Kyn's activities, found herself in a rather comical position. She had taken great care to remain concealed from the gaze of the goddesses, maintaining a civilian dress code that allowed her to blend into the bustling crowd like an ordinary human being.

Lyra had expertly avoided drawing attention to herself by refraining from using magicka in the presence of the deities. In the divine world, such actions could easily reveal one's position, and Lyra had chosen to remain discreet. However, her commitment to maintaining a low profile had resulted in some unintended consequences.

Ever since the group had arrived from Maroneia, Lyra had been on a rather unusual assignment. It felt more like a holiday than a high-profile mission, and the relaxed atmosphere had its effects. Her indulgence in the local cuisine had begun to take its toll on her appearance, and a noticeable puffiness had started to show. The situation was nothing short of ironic, as a mission that had initially seemed light-hearted had now left her with the unexpected challenge on weight gain, disguising her holiday-induced weight gain as part of her cover. To be since, she kinda looked like a white induced 'Madea' with pointy ears from her race of Adoria. She continued to monitor the group's activities from across the food court, maintaining her incognito status while keeping a watchful eye on Kyn and the goddesses. And Kyn's predicaments just added to her humor, his tale was a site to behold; the three women just went crazy as soon as they stepped into the mall.

As the women went about their shopping, Kyn couldn't resist the temptation to pull out his link and examine the added blessings that had come his way, thanks to his proximity to Athena, a deity of considerable stature. His link provided him with a clear update on the changes he had undergone.

One of the notable enhancements he discovered was an increase in his knowledge-based attributes. The divine association with Athena had endowed him with a heightened understanding and wisdom, which allowed him to access and absorb information more effectively.

However, the revelation that caught his attention and left him deep in contemplation was the realization of Athena's biological clock. The knowledge that the goddess had less than 200 years remaining before her eventual passing had a profound impact on Kyn.

In this time frame, humanity was expected to undergo the great filter, a critical phase in its evolution. If successful, it would mark humanity's recognition as a Type I civilization, capable of harnessing the resources of an entire planet. The weight of this realization left Kyn pondering the future and the implications of his association with a goddess who was set to witness a transformative moment in human history.

"Heey! How do I look?"

As Kyn's whose mind was slightly zoned out got ambushed, Athena suddenly appeared right next to him, dressed in a fashionable beach dress that was perfectly suited to the Mediterranean setting. With a playful glint in her eye, she observed the hunter, who appeared to be deep in thought. Athena couldn't resist teasing him a little, using her choice of attire to lighten the mood.

However, Athena's abilities extended beyond her attire, as she possessed the power to read minds. She glanced across to where Jasmine was present, and through her telepathic link, she relayed Kyn's thoughts to her fellow divine being.

Feeling a sense of responsibility for the situation and recognizing the need for a private conversation, Athena used her mental link with Jasmine to request a moment alone with Kyn. The Mediterranean beach provided the perfect backdrop for their upcoming conversation, and the group's dynamics were about to undergo a shift as Athena sought to address the concerns that weighed on Kyn's mind.

"But don't be long or else will eavesdrop," replied Jasmine.

As she approached the hunter, distracted from his thoughts Kyn looked up to meet the new added addition to his harem. Unlike Gaia's approach on being un-naturally straight forward with her requests, Athena sat up right next to him and leaned on his shoulder. She was as gracious as the goddess she looked but felt more at home with the human world.

Her ethereal voice broke the silence, "If you had the wisdom and knowledge to see your whole life plan out and had the chance to not see it, would you take it," she asked.

"If you know everything then you already know of my resolve." Kyn replied.

"With you around, I don't know mine ,I cant see it, It's why Gaia wanted to us to meet," she smiled and in her thoughts recalled the first time Gaia had informed her of a weird not so human man who'd teleported into her tower.

"Gaia, I trust, as weird as she is, I find her open minded ... you on the other hand, my trust for you is by proxy ..." He replied.

"For a detective you pretty much do luck people skills," Athena replied, "Making a lady rethink her love..."

"You are the third goddess, I've now interacted with and I still don't get why you would want to share your lives with me. " he tried to see through his actions, the actions lead by fate.

As Athena gracefully rose from the bench where they had been seated, Kyn couldn't help but notice her alluring attire. She was dressed in a CUPSHE Women Textured Striped Cover-Up Dress with short sleeveless arms and a V-neck, a perfect choice for the beach. Her radiant blonde hair and captivating presence added to her appeal, while her eyes, filled with a hint of sadness, seemed to carry a weight of waiting and anticipation.

Stretching out a flawless hand, Athena extended it to Kyn, inviting him to join her in a new destination. With her divine power, Athena effortlessly transported them to Kea, one of the stunning islands that make up the Athens archipelago. Kea offered a picturesque setting with its laidback Cycladic atmosphere, charming pebbled beaches, serene coastlines, and quaint, colorful settlements. Despite its proximity to Athens, the island felt like a world apart, providing a peaceful getaway that allowed visitors to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Their arrival on Kea marked a significant change of scenery, and as they stood on the peaceful island, Kyn couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of their surroundings. The tranquil atmosphere of Kea served as the backdrop for the conversation Athena had in mind, and their new setting offered a fresh perspective on the matters they needed to address.

"I feel free around you, hence the question you should be asking is... Why Not?" she replied, the afternoon sun actuating her appeal.
