Chapter 25 - Night

To pull off his scheme to prank the Gaia clones, Kyn knew he would need a partner who exuded both strength and beauty. He couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of making them just a tiny bit envious. As he strolled back towards the lobby, he spotted a figure that seemed to fit his requirements perfectly.

A stunning huntress with flowing purple hair caught his attention as she was in the process of checking in. Her divine bow in one hand and the comically oversized sword at her hip gave her an air of both grace and strength. Kyn smiled to himself, knowing that she was perfect for his plan.

Kyn marched confidently towards the huntress, his demeanour pleasant and his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Smiling, Kyn said, "Hello there. Quite the impressive arsenal you've got. Planning to take on a whole pantheon?"

In a mix of amusement and curiosity, the huntress turned to him, meeting his violet eyes with hers.

Laughing, the huntress said, "Well, you never know when a pantheon might try to gatecrash your vacation."

Kyn's grin broadened at her sarcastic reply. He sensed that she was a strong individual who enjoyed a lively debate.

"Fair enough," nodded Kyn. "I'm Kyn, by the way."

The huntress said, "Nice to meet you, Kyn," as she extended her hand." I'm Nyx. I'm here to unwind and do some hunting if I get the chance."

Kyn's smile grew wider. For such a powerful and enigmatic figure, the name Nyx, the huntress' given name, seemed fitting.

To which Kyn replied, "Hunting? You've got the right tools for the job, at least. By the way, the bar is a wonderful place to kick back and relax. Care to come have a drink with me?"

Nyx looked at Kyn with a hint of curiosity, her interest piqued by the playful invitation.

As Nyx mused, "Why not? To kick off this vacation, I could use a drink."

Kyn felt a flutter of excitement as they made their way towards the bar. He had Nyx by his side as he prepared to carry out his plan: a bit of harmless mischief that would hopefully make him smile and make the Gaia clones a little envious.

Each moment at the Hotel Cipriani held the promise of laughter and companionship, and fate seemed to unfold in ways no one could have predicted. They were now on a journey together, one that bridged the gap between the divine and the human, connecting them through friendship and the joy of discovery.

Kyn and Nyx immediately hit it off as they sat down at a table in the hotel bar. There was a sense of calm, and Kyn couldn't help but feel victorious; his plan to incite the Gaia clones' harmless jealousy was thriving, after all. Having Nyx there to share in his happiness was just the icing on the cake.

However, Nyx, a being deeply connected to the night and the ethereal realms, felt a subtle shift in the ether. She felt a subtle nudge in her awareness and turned to look at the door. Gaia, a stormy expression on her face, was the first thing she noticed as she came over to join them at the table.

(Muttering) "Well, well," Nyx said to herself, "it seems like our dear Gaia is not pleased."

As Kyn followed Nyx's gaze, he furrowed his brow thoughtfully. There was no denying Gaia's presence; the atmosphere was thick with her smouldering irritation. She walked up to Kyn, her eyes meeting his, her expression indicating that she had something to say.

Gaia with a fake smile and arms crossed, she forced herself in the most politest of ways to 'ask', "Dear darling, may I have a word with you?"

Kyn blinked, the fleeting feeling of triumph quickly leaving him. He couldn't place his finger on what had set Gaia off, but judging by her demeanour, he was about to find out.

"Uh, sure, Gaia," Kyn said trying to maintain his cool, "What brought you out to play ?"

Aware of the changes in the supernatural currents, Nyx decided to make her presence known before Gaia could respond. She laughed and relaxed back in her seat.

"Oh, Gaia, isn't this a surprise?" joked Nyx, "You've decided to come hang out with us, the gang of misfits."

The tension between them was palpable, and the air seemed to crackle as Gaia's anger grew at Nyx's remark.

Gaia warned, "Don't play games with me," in an icy voice, "There are things I need to talk about with Kyn."

(Raising an eyebrow) "Of course, Gaia," said Nyx, "But keep in mind that I've known Kyn for a long time. We share an affinity for the mysteries of the night. Isn't that right my prince."

Kyn shifted uneasily in his chair as he listened to the two chaos entities escalate their argument. Their confrontation was the last thing he expected when he came up with his playful plan. For wants, he started thinking to himself along the lines of he should have taken Bertha's warning at heart, but then again te world seemed to be playing himdirty with his luck.

In a nervous tone, Kyn asked the women, "Uh, ladies, can we maybe have this conversation without turning the bar into a battleground?"

The dramatic tension between Gaia and Nyx was palpable as they exchanged a look tinged with rivalry and amusement.

"Kyn," Gaia while calming down firmly requested, "we need to talk."

Smiling, Nyx threw in a wrench into the mix ,"Yes, please, Gaia. No, 'we' don't want to interrupt 'your conversation' with your man."

As the two agents of chaos played out their own brand of playful drama, Kyn couldn't help but feel as though he'd stumbled into a chaotically charged sitcom. Gaia's anger and Nyx's mischief painted a picture of divine beings with all the quirks and eccentricities of human emotions, which made for some comedic contrast.

Kyn's once triumphant expression changed to one of regret as he was caught between Gaia's rage and Nyx's amusement. He had certainly made things more interesting than they would have been contrary, and now he was forced to deal with the fallout: a chaotic but hilarious showdown between two entities both eager to get his attention.

The divine and the mortal became entangled in a drama that was both fascinating and puzzling as it unfolded in the bar of the Hotel Cipriani. The initial burst of good humour and mutual pranks had apparently taken a bizarre turn, leaving Kyn to make sense of the mayhem that had broken out in the midst of their shared adventure.
