Chapter 46 - Chapter 46(Too deep?)

"Hahaha... Awww man!... it has been a while already since the last time I went swimming"

Jin cackled in enjoyment as he swam around within the water leisurely. He was around 50 meters away from the shore... roughly 1/3 towards the middle of the water area.

Meanwhile...

Saya and Lizy sat there on the side as they chatted with each other happily.

The wind gently shuttled by against them as the warm feeling cruised through the land peacefully.

Everything appeared to be so pleasant to one's eyes. Nothing would ever go wrong, no?.

"Lizy... is it possible for people like us to do this type of thing?"

Saya inquired in a soft and fragile voice. Her words were a bit sad accompanied by her expression.... as Lizy listened to her attentively.

"You don't have to worry... with strength, our past imprints can easily be rewritten into a new one."

She answered back... assuring Saya of their scars from before.

"B-but... we are slaves Lizy. Our status is even lower than those normal people"

Saya groaned as she lifted her arm upwards. Pulling her right-hand sleeves a bit and there... we could glimpse a burnt mark on her wrist.

Shaped into a circle with the word slave in the middle...

" Have faith... hope is for those who preserved. And we shall preserve and eventually escape from this hell of a world into a peaceful one."

Lizy countered back in with a profound look in her eyes. Saya saw it... the determination... the strength and beliefs within her gaze.

"Mhmm... "

She nodded as her eyes flickered back under the shine.

"How about we join Jin with his swimming?... "

Saya suddenly proposed...

As she glanced towards the water eagerly.

For 20 years of her life... she had been kept inside a cage. Used as a tool for pleasure and fed with remains of rotten food for her to eat her fill every day.

She had no hope back then... not even a crack of light through the cement walls for her to see.

Every day was like endless torture for her. No clothes, no proper food, and no honor as a human being.

But one day... all of her curses changed. It was a storm during the night that she saw her. A woman dressed in a tight leather suit.

Brandishing her dagger against those Guard's necks and killing them off.

And that moment was the time that she had finally found hope. The hope of being free for herself. Or was it?...

-

"Alright... let's go. It has been a while already"

Lizy smiled.

And then both of them went to the water excitedly. Saya only took off her outer robe... revealing those milk-like skin below. She was wearing her underwear though she doesn't seem to care about it.

Well, Jin isn't a stranger to her. He also was a slave that had been treated even worse than she could imagine. After years of getting to know him, it felt like a stupid big brother that would always smile in every situation.

As for Lizy... she still retained that tight suit on with a plain look on her face. She doesn't care about others' opinions...

"Let's go!!!"

"Hahaha!"

After all of that preparation then they immediately leaped into the water while holding each other hands.

*splashes!* *splashes!*

"Hahaha! it's so warm!"

Saya exclaimed cheerfully.

"Mhmm... this water is a bit warm. Hemm? a bit too warm mm"

Lizy replied but then she thought about it once again. Was this place usually that warm?...

she had been here before... but the water had never been like this before.

"I think too much... "

She shrugged it off. For now, it was time for them to enjoy this small vocation. A joyous smile was plastered on her face as she swam behind Saya. What a sight!...

But...

her though from before should have been mulled again within. Because deep under the water... existed there something horrible. An existence that no one could think of to be there.

-

Back to where Jin was...

Now he had already swum a bit further than before. He was very close to the middle of the lake with below the endless darkness within the depth.

"Hemm?... is it just me or is the color a bit too darker from before?"

He asked himself while gazing downwards into the water. The darkness below... he had never really bothered with it before... but this time. He felt something...

"... This... why am I suddenly feeling uneasy?"

He muttered... and a scowl emerged on his face seconds later.

His heart... was telling him something. But....he couldn't quite grasp what it was.

*splashes!* *splashes!*

"Hey what's the matter Jin?"

"Yeah, Jin?... are you alright?"

Saya and Lizy swam closer. Around 4 meters away, they looked at his nervous expression worriedly.

"Lizy... I think. There's something wrong with this waterfall"

He blurted out with uncertainty... but his intuition was warning off like an alarm. He needed to tell them... or else he won't be able to sleep well tonight.

"Huh?... something wrong?"

Lizy muttered back.

Thinking back to the weird temperature of this water.

"Isn't the water also a bit warmer from before?"

She added in as her chin propped against.

"Yeah... I noticed that too. "

Saya nodded. Even though she has no clue what they were talking about.

In her ears, she only heard blah blah blah warmer.

"... Lizy... "

Jin suddenly whispered...

but this time his gaze was fixed downwards into the water. His face was cramped with horror as his eyes were wide open.

"What is it?"

Lizy asked as she stared at his expression.

A touch of uneasiness slowly penetrated her heart as Jin slowly slanted his gaze back up...

Intertwined with her's sight. She could see it...

the dignified look on his face. An expression that he had never shown before...

" I saw... something very large under us"

He gulped... but the fear on his face wasn't even concealed in the slightest.

His words send chills to both of the women. Their heat thumped wildly with a huge frown on all of their complexion.

"You might have mistaken something... "

Lizy hurriedly butted in with those words of assurance. Trying to ease the situation down...

though within... she 100% believed in Jin's words.

"Let's get out of the water first... "

She said in a calm voice. Although... a large lump of uncertainty was slowly brewing itself... making her heart heavier and heavier in the decision.

"Alright... "

"Mhmm... I don't like it here too..."

Saya and Jin Nodded back.

And they quickly swam off towards the shore.

Dressing themselves up once again and gathering in a group far away from the waterfall.

"Should we report this to the guildhall?"

Jin asked fearfully.

"... "

"I-i think we should get people here to check once again... "

Lizy stayed silent for a while but Saya hurriedly acknowledged Jin's proposal. All three of them felt it... as they were swimming back just now. The water suddenly got warmer and warmer. As if... something was erupting below.

But the worst part of it... that they couldn't see it.

Surely something that could produce such a large amount of heat could easily be detected. No... it appeared to be in the opposite...

"Would they believe us?"

Lizy suddenly said...

her face was cold but her words thundered the other 2 out of their fantasy.

Yeah... who would believe them? They were slaves that somehow managed to escape from those nobles. Their words carried no weight to those people.

"..."

"...."

*sigh*

Lizy sighed while frowning. It's not like she was trying to bring down their mood or anything. But... that was the reality of their situation.

"Then what should we do?"

Jin asked again...

"Alright, I think we-"

"How about a talk little one"

*swoosh!*

"Who's there!"

Abruptly...

As Lizy was about to respond to Jin's question. An ancient voice unexpectedly rumbled about within the medium as this without a doubt horrified the group of three.

The dagger was out on her hand with her stance ready to fight at any moment.

Jin held his giant shield on the front as his eyes gawked around nervously.

And Saya standing at the back of the group with her silent chanting.

Ready and set. Though their heart plummeted down the moment the voice dropped before.

Their orifices widened in panic as the wind around the area shuttled unevenly. Fear, confusion, and also horror.

They couldn't see the other person's whereabouts but. He or she should be close...

far closer than they think...

"No need to be alarmed little ones"

The voice sounded again...

bringing no evil tone within those words.

The three trembled slightly after hearing it.

their heart thumping wildly with beads of sweat sliding over their forehead.

"Show yourself instead of concealing like this?... how are we to feel safe if you are the one hiding?"

Lizy retorted with a loud voice. Her dagger lifted and grasped tightly within her palm.

"Hahaha! If I were to show myself. You would flee away then!"

*rumbles* *rumbles* *rumbles*

The voice laughed as loud as heaven. The earth shuddered under the vibration as some of the rocks on top of the waterfall fell over from the sky.

TO BE CLIFF HANGER.
