"Thank you, " yeah I took pleasure in the time devoured partying as a business Icon, Jae and I were in the hallway to the parking lot, finally going back home.
"Get in!" I whispered to her, unfortunately, I had to take her to these parties, if it wasn't mandatory I would have never implored her to touch on any business holdings parties.
She nodded and climbed inside, for the whole drive, she remained silent, be busy with the phone, but for some reason, I grew impatient noticing her expression while typing something on her phone, might be got busy with someone who wasn't worth it to be in her company.
While I was busy focusing on the front view, trying to be attentive on road at night times.
As we reached the front of our mansion, some people were gathered while there stood police car and paying more attention I realised there were police, in addition to this fact, I grew uncomfortable so hurriedly I got out of the car, hurried with the spaces as much as I could.
But couldn't as they left before I reached their space as I was a little far from their standings.
"What the heck is happening here? How police come without informing me?" I ran hands through my hands out in frustration as I turned to her, who was busy imagining some evil plan in her mind.
I coughed little to catch her attention.
She shook her head while approaching the reality at this time.
"What happened? Why are they here?"
I gritted my teeth listening to her words, her sudden realisation of the appearance of police at our mansion.
"That's what I am searching for?" I said while instructing the driver to get the car inside and walked further to know the cause. In addition, her figure followed me.
As I approached the living area, the lights were turned on, and I guess someone was working in the kitchen because I could smell something delicious.
My lips turned upside, coming to sense that Jin-Ae would make something for herself as I caught her multiple times, cooking at the time of midnight.
Swirling to catch her mom, whom I didn't feel any feeling now just because of her thoughts over her family, was laying comfortably with closed eyes.
The purse was on the other side of the sofa, her undisciplined caused me annoyance, being the eldest of her but still lacking moral values.
I took off my suit and kept it on the table while pouring some watch for myself.
"J-I-N--A-E?" I squealed
I laughed to catch her running figure towards me to hug me.
"Papa, you're back!" she cheered and hugged me tightly.
I nodded while stroking her hair, leaving a peck on.
"Alright, what was the police doing here at this time?" I couldn't catch her expressions as she hide her face in the crook on my neck.
But instantly she heaved away and connected sights with mine.
"What?"
"Police were there outside when I came here," I said out in a serious tone, and waited for her open but instead of her, I heard someone's else voice.
"Dad, she won't tell you," realising that it was Ji-Hoon, I relaxed.
I raised my eyebrow in his direction and the same turned in her direction.
"Are you hiding something daughter?"
She shook her head.
Ji-Hoon and Ari approached the dining space while Jae got attentive all of sudden and followed the crowd at the dining space.
"What happened? Did something happen to Jin-Ae?"
'Why is she concerned about her so much and all of sudden?' this thought crossed instantly as I noticed the threads of worry on her face, 'Is she worried about her or something else?'
Not just these but millions of thoughts over her concerned self.
"Why are you so worried for her?"
"Maybe Ari got hurt? or it can me?"
Yeah, he spoke correctly, "But son, tell me what happened?"
Before letting out about the incident that occurred at this place, he glanced at Jin-Ae for once.
"One guy tried to harass her, and we got to know by some means and Ari helped by telling it to police and I guess you can imagine the situation ahead," just in some counting lines, I tried to catch the scene of that happening in the head.
Anger rushed through my veins, and just to calm me I threw the glass on the floor, breaking it down into thousands of pieces, to which Jae flinched but I didn't seem to care for her.
Nothing was bothering me more than someone trying to harm my daughter, I instantly hugged her from the side and pecked her multiple times.
"Are you alright?" I asked.
She nodded, "Brother, came at the right time," and Ji-Hoon returned the smile, she just passed in his direction.
"That guy is under police custody?" I asked
He nodded while grabbing the chair to eat something, as he could sense the growling sound coming from my stomach.
"Alright, let me meet that bastard," I said while gripping the piece from the table.
As I turned to face the front door, Jae's worried looks caught my attention.
"What happened to you?"
"Ah! nothing just thinking about the incident made me worried?"
"Oh, worried about your daughter or worried about yourself," she wasn't the one to worry for her loved ones, but herself.
"Of course, her," her voice cracked out of fear, might be.
I laughed sarcastically while got busy with steps towards the entrance.
"Dad? Come here and I would visit tomorrow, you just came from outside, don't worry, it's almost midnight," he said while standing up from his sitting.
"But-"
"Don't worry, dad. I will handle him myself, just relax," I nodded and approached the dining space to have her delicious food.
She served the food, and we ate wholeheartedly.
"I must appreciate your skills, my daughter," I praised my little angel, and a very big smile grew under her lips.
"Thank you,"
I nodded.
"Ji-Hoon, but how did you know about this?" I asked such a genuine question because I guess Jee-Ho wasn't here to inform anybody out here, so how?
He stopped in between his eatings, dropped the spoon from his grip and glanced in Jin-Ae's direction for once and then Ari.
He licked his lower lips, but I couldn't guess his actions.
He cleared his throat, "Guards told me when he realised someone entered the house," lied of course because he didn't wish to inform about him in the sights of her.
I nodded and soon parted our ways to our rooms.
"Where is she?"
"Who?"
"Jae!"
"Oh, she wouldn't be interested in family talks, so must be sleeping in the room," Ari seemed to make sense by her words.
I nodded and took a turn in my room's direction.
"Ji-Hoon?" I called out for him because I knew he was lying in the name of guards. After all, except my driver and watchman, there weren't any guards present at the gate.
"Yes!"
"Come here," I said, and he whispered something in his wife's ear, and I laughed at him.
We were sitting in the living area while no other seemed to appear there around, so it became easy to talk frankly.
"Tell me who informed you about?"
His eyes widened suddenly and turned around in my direction.
"I just told you, dad!"
I giggled
"you know that you are lying and me too, so better, tell me who informed about," I whispered out in a serious tone.
For a while, he got lost in his thoughts before coming up with the truth behind his lies.
"Don't tell Jin-Ae that I told you the truth," he said, which didn't bother me less and made me worried to the core.
"Why?"
"Just promise me?"
For a second, I didn't want to but thinking practically I came to my sense that he was her brother and he would never think of someone harming his only sister. So, I nodded.
"Okay!"
"It was him, who she loved, Sung-Ho," he said.
"Huh?"
"Hm, him!"
"How?"
I was beyond shocked, listening about him after ages, neither someone came up with his name, nor Jin-Ae show any interest in him in front of me.
And that's when some threads of regret, sorrow rushed into me, parting my beloved daughter from her love. My face was saddened by the fact that how she would be tolerating herself, keeping her distance from him.
"Dad?" I was snapped out from thoughts of the past by the utterance of.
"Hmm," I hummed in response.
"You met him already,"
"Huh? Where?"
"In States, that guy who worked as an employee for a month became the head of the company,"
"Are you serious?" I was surprised by his utterance, was beyond shocked knowing that finally, he came to stand in between Top Businessmen around the world.
And more than this, this realisation hit me that I met him but couldn't recognise him.
"Shit, I couldn't seem to recognise him, seriously him?"
He laughed at my sayings and expression, which I was throwing towards the end of this topic.
"What made you laugh?"
"Nothing but something made me laugh about you,"

"You remembered, how you both laughed at him, but now you would be the one to look for the chance to get him in the partnership," and at last he laughed, going back to the days, it also made me laugh.

"There is the fact behind this happening," he said, holding his laughter.

"He did this just to make you guys accept him for Jin-Ae, he worked hard for her, to stay with her,"

"Oh my God, now I can say that he has the right to stand against us for his love, and he'll win,"
