Chapter 1 - My sister isn't like you, Mom

"How can you love that boy who can't assuage your appetites? huh?" My mom gave me a cold shoulder likewise for loving Sung-Ho.

"Money isn't everything but love, why are you always after money, mom. I want him not riches," I came up with my sentiments besides although I felt that she would disobey my understandings as every time.

"Have you gone crazy? Your brother did all this after our saying but what is wrong with you every time trying to be a stubborn girl."

Now it seemed that again I would end up with the same misunderstandings, she retained.

"It's not like she is asking for your life," I heard my brother's voice, Ji-hoon mumbled before showing up in our sight in the same space where we were talking or you can say arguing.

"Oh, see who's here for favouring his sister again," mom spoke and glanced at him from tip to toe with bitterness, he was in business attire as he was back from work. Putting his belongings on the sofa, he rested his hands on either side of his torso.

"Why are you always feel irritated whenever I am here to talk to Jin-Ae about that middle-class boy."

I was taken aback by her disgusted expression when she talked about Sung-ho, I felt disappointed. I never forced or went against her but it didn't mean, she would insult him like that.

"At least, she isn't after wealth as you. And I'm happy for her that she would not be like you, always ravenous," after attending to his words, I felt a feeling of being loved by him. No doubt that he loved me since childhood, he even fought for my career and because of him I could become a writer otherwise it would never happen at my age.

"Why do you always give me that annoying look?" mom uttered and took a step ahead in his direction.

"Because I don't think you are our mother so maybe because of that I feel annoyed by you," the brother said those harsh words to her straight but before anything gets to, a loud sound was heard.

SLAP!

"MOM?" I shouted and stood in front of her, trying to stop her from further doing.

"I DIDN'T LOOKED AFTER YOU TWO JUST TO HEAR THIS WORDING, I JUST WANT YOU BOTH TO LIVE HAPPILY." I don't know but for the first time in my life, I felt kinda hurt after seeing tears in her eyes. Might be she was hurt but I can't trust her tears because of what she did in the past with my brother.

"Do you think these words would change my perspective for you? N-E-V-E-R," I was holding my brother's arm because I was scared of anything happening but all I heard was laughs from my brother's mouth.

As I turned to look up at his face, mom spoke, "Listen, no matter how much you try to go after him but remember I would never let you go to him. I hope you keep this in your mind," she said and made an effort to push me against the floor by her shoulder but my brother saved me.

After that, she walked away with a snort but no death threats as before where she threatened me with Sung-ho's life.

"Don't worry, I would never let her touch you, I'm here with you all the time,"

"I don't want to be the reason for your pain, brother," I spoke and rested my head on his chest while he stroked my hair and pecked my forehead.

"I don't care as long as my little is safe from her." I heard his sayings and hugged him even tighter, he chuckled at my behaviour and tapped on my shoulder to get off him.

"I have to change my clothes and then we would go for a walk outside."

"Sure."

"Jin-Ae, come and have lunch," my sister-in-law asked and held my shoulders to turn around in the direction of the dining room. She always behaved nicely with me as a sister, don't know but I loved her, she managed to take care of us even after having so much pressure at work, she helped my brother in his work after they tied a knot.

I felt so good whenever I was with her.

"Let's wait for brother," I suggested and stopped her from moving ahead in our way.

She nodded and then we took our seats on the couch.

"I don't want to hurt your feelings but can I know about you and mom." A sad smile crept on my face after her words, shifting near to her, I rested my head on her shoulder while wrapping my hands around her waist.

She wasn't surprised by my actions as I always being like this whenever I would be around her.

" Tell me, how it feels when your feelings are judged?" I raised a question to her, she looked at me with raised eyebrows and pulled me off.

"What are you talking about?"

"Answer me first,"

"I don't know much but it feels so alone when you thought that the person who would understand you the most, would end up to be the one who hurt or misjudge your feelings. I can't say much about this," listening to her words, I smiled and cupped her cheeks.

"You are so cute," I complimented her, not all my worries seemed to fly away but with her, all I could think was of happy moments, she never made me feel unwanted by my parents, both of them treated me like a princess.

"Let's have dinner, my little. You must be hungry," showing up in front of our sights, brother glanced at both of us with a smiling face.

"Alright!" hurriedly I jumped off the couch and made my way to the dining room.

"I can't understand her, no matter how many fights she had with mom, she always seemed to gleam," Ari says.

Ari always had trouble with piecing it all together but with a long sigh, she got up and thought of having dinner with them.

At the SEO office,

"Is everything ready?" Seo-jin asked his secretary.

"Yes, sir but_" his secretary(Shik) stopped midway and avoided any kind of eye contact with him.

"What?"

"Mrs discontinued the meeting that would be happening tomorrow," Shik muttered while his head was heading low because of fear, he guessed that he would chastise him.

Before giving any instructions to Shik, the door of his office slung open with a thud sound, showing Jae. Anger rushed through his veins after noticing her actions.

"How-"

"Stop it, I know what you gonna say. Listen to me first, then you can let go of your holdings," while grabbing a chair.

Glancing at her actions, Seo-jin was fuming in anger because of her, cancelling the meeting, which was so important for their upcoming project with Tae-Hyun's corporation( Hyun Corporation).

"Do you have any idea over what you did Mrs?" Seo-jin spoke, crossing hands over his chest.

"Shik, You can leave and make sure to close the door," Jae instructed him with no expression on her face.

Her doings were not new to Seo-jin, she did it many times in the past.

"Please-," Seo-jin said with an annoying tone they both didn't share a good relationship as a couple should, Jae turned every relationship according to her whether it was of mother-daughter, husband-wife.

"Have you thought about that what you would say to Tae-Hyun when your daughter isn't willing for this marriage that would help us in getting this project done successfully?"

"I don't care about that and your thinking-"

Jae cut him off as an old habit, she never liked someone who went or did things against her saying and that was the reason she hatred by most of her family members including her husband.

"Why? Don't care about building a good relationship with Hyun corporations?"

Seo-jin thrust out in annoyance trying to put off a full stop to her words.

"Did you ask her about that?" he asked in a cold tone and looked at her with the same expression.

She let out a dry chuckle and stood up from the chair, adding a few more she went near to him.

"Let me add a fact to it, she is so stubborn you know that, and it is because of that boy."

"Boy?" he uttered slowly and turned inside out to catch a glimpse of her face.

But to their bad luck, soon a sound of door knock dropped in their ears which stopped them from further speeches between them.

Clenching his jaw, "Come in," he said.

"What is it?"

"Mrs there is someone to meet you up in your office," Shik said and left the room.

"Who is here at this time?" Jae thought to herself and glanced at her watch to notice the time.

It was afternoon and she barely had anyone to meet at this time.

Without uttering any more words to Seo-jin, she made her way to his office and wondering over the person's appearance at that time.

Shik twisted the doorknob, she had a sight of a female who was resting on the couch and taking a peek at her office. Jae couldn't see her face as her back was facing her.

Clearing her throat, she gathered that lady's attention and came over in front of her.

"Hello, Mam?"

"Who are you?" Jae asked, throwing a confusing look in her direction.

"I'm Sun-Hee, I got a message from your company for an internship, So-"

"SHIK, COME HERE!" Jae shouted, making Sun-Her flinching at the sudden change in her behaviour.

"Yes Mrs," Shik mumbled with a scared look,

"Am I here for the interviews for interns? huh?"

"I'm sorry, but I guess you don't know about me, I'm sent here from Hyun corporations for the upcoming projects. I was asked to work here till the upcoming projects," Sun-Hee made herself clear but still she was frightened by her anger, and it was so easy to guess her current state by her facial expression.

"That meeting is not happening, don't you know about that. You may leave," with a tone of instruction, Jae asked her to leave without any further saying from Sun-Hee side.

"But-"

"LEAVE," she yelled again.

"Mam please," Shik requested her to leave because he knew the consequences of her anger so to avoid any bad happening he guided Sun-Hee to the exit of her office.

Bowing with respect, Sun-Hee left the room with Shik.

"What kind of behaviour was that?" she asked herself but Shik caught her words and uttered to her.

"Please don't mind and if there would any further procedure for the project we'll let you know beforehand, please drop your contact at the reception before you leave,"

"Thank you," she politely said and left from there.
