Andrea laid on her bed, crying her eyes out, trying to hate her father but she knew deep down she couldn't, she couldn't bring herself to. Despite her father making such a foolish mistake, she still knew he was a good person who just allowed his addictions to get the best of him. She stayed up, crying for only God knows how long that night and then eventually fell asleep. When she woke up, her eyes were red and swollen making it a little hard to see and very uncomfortable. She went to the bathroom to wash her face and then dried it up with a towel. She was about to reach for the door knob when she heard knocking coming from the entrance door down stairs and let out a soft sigh, she knew who it might be, her father's credit. Her load was already parked as she never even got to unpack it and she was all set to leave the house she grew up in, the house she where made all her best memories, now they were going to lose it just like that. A tear drop rolled down her cheek and she quickly wiped it off, she didn't want to keep crying, she wouldn't cry over spilled milk, there was no point of doing so.
She let out a another sigh and decided that she might as well take a shower and fix her swollen face.
After getting out of the bathroom, she got dressed and applied some makeup to cover up her puffy face, then Andrea's bedroom creaked open and she walked out of it with her head held high with pride, she might be losing her house but she wasn't going to lose her pride.
She was a Scaffoni and Scaffonis were prideful people.
She could lose everything she owned on earth but never her pride, that has always been here motto. She climbed down the staircase that led to the living room, with her eyes looking all over the place, trying to take in its beauty before she departs from it. While her eyes were still looking everywhere, she paused when her eyes fell on a man dressed in all black standing in the middle of the living room, he had his hands in his pockets and she quickly recognized him as the man from last night, the man her father was speaking to. Her father told her that he worked for the man he owed money and was a very dangerous man. He had a dark domineering aura heavily exuding from him and looked like all those highly paid hitmen she saw in the movies.
Though he was very handsome with short black hair, dashing grey eyes, a sharp jawline and sexy facial hair.
Matteo was waiting for Andrea's father so he could speak to him about his boss's newest proposal and stood in the living room when he heard footsteps coming from the staircase and looked up to see who it was. On seeing it was Marco's eldest daughter he smiled at her, She stood for a few seconds staring at him before she started walking again and he could help but admire how gracefully she carried herself. She wore a pink knee-length dress and looked absolutely stunning in it but when he took a closer look at her face, he noticed that she looked detached. Devastated. Sad. He couldn't blame her, who wouldn't be? She was going to lose the house she grew up in after all and she might have applied some makeup to cover up her swollen face but makeup can't cover up sadness. She walked down the the stairs and was about to head outside when she heard him speak;
" Good morning" He greeted her with a smile and she stopped and turned to look at him.
" Morning" Andrea responded with a strained smile, she had wanted to reply him curtly but couldn't as she knew it wouldn't be fair to hate him, it was his fault. He wasn't the one who foolishly trade his house. " Who let you in?" She asked as she looked at the door to see if anyone was there
" Your sister let me in." He answered. " My name is Matteo Vitale, I'm the right hand man of your father's creditor." He introduced himself as he stretched his hand out to her to shake. She stare at his outstretched hand and forced a smile.
" Andrea Scaffoni" she shook his hand and his smile widened.
" What a pretty for a pretty girl, It's always a pleasure to meet a beautiful woman sure as yourself." He complimented with a charming voice. Matteo held Andrea's hands in his, raising it to his lips and planted a kiss on it. She quickly yanked her hand from his and shot him a glare. He smirked on seeing her reaction, she was both beautiful and feisty, he was starting to like her even more.
" My father is in his room, if you came here to see him you have to wait a little while, he will be down in a minute." She said and brushed off his compliment, not even acknowledging it.
" I did come to see your father, I wanted to talk to him about something but right now I don't mind waiting, I rather stay here and talk to you instead." He said and took two steps towards her. Andrea got startled when she saw him advancing towards her and immediately took three steps backwards.
" About what?" she asked, trying to act like she wasn't scared of how he was approaching her, like a dangerous predator, making her to raise her guard instantly. She wasn't a weak girl, she never was and also knew quite well how to defeat herself but something about this man scares the shit out of her, maybe because of his appearance as he looked so.... sinister, ominous...Evil. He looked like a diabolical villain and she knew she had to be careful around him, her family was still here and she didn't want them to get hurt by this man because of her.
" A deal" He started " You know your father can get to keep the house, your siblings will have a roof over their heads but only on one condition, that is if and only if you-"
" Become my wife!"
