Scarlett pov
I walked towards the stairs when I saw a maid standing near them. Her face turned pale when she looked at me and her eyes filled with panic. She had covered her expressions to neutral again when I reached closer to her.
"My lady, do you need anything?" she asked politely as she bowed her head and her voice was filled with utmost respect!
I really wanted to applaud for their act! They should have been working in a theatre rather than here!
"I need you to show me the way to the kitchen." I replied in a calm voice too but I could see her body trembling at my reply.
"Do you need anything from the kitchen? I can bring it here for you. My lady. I am afraid that the kitchen is not a place for you to go!`` She tried her best to stay calm even after my request.
":why? Can't i go to the kitchen by myself?'' I looked back at her face when she stood straight. My voice was cold and starn and the smile on her face was freezing.
