Evans pov.
I could smell the freedom. The area was so crowded that I would soon be lost in the waves of people. But before I could reach far I heard a voice.
"Take one more step and I will kill this girl?" they shouted loudly.
"No, Evans. These slaves have nothing to do with you, and they are going to be sold anyway. Dying was better than living a tormented life. So did not turn back.'' I explained myself and consoled and started to move again when I heard her sobs.
"Aahhh, please.. Please save me." I could hear her helpless screams that worked like an iron chain in my legs and they could not move further.
I closed my eyes as I knew it was my end. There was no way I would get another chance to run before I would be sold. But could I do something about it!
I shook my head as i knew, i did not have the courage to run away putting an innocent life on stake. My legs halted and soon they caught up to me. Holding me from both sides, they looked at me annoyed.
