Fabio looked around the small tent that he had been staying in for the past week as a sigh left his lips. He was tired, both mentally and physically, but he had not yet been relieved from his duties.
At this point, the only thing that kept him going was his wife and daughter. They were his whole world, and it was because of them that he was fighting in this war, instead of just turning tail and running off.
He had spoken to them a couple of weeks ago. The secret faction had already emptied out the population of its underground city. They were now safely settled in the lands of the Zelan pack.
Speaking with them had reignited the drive in him. The drive to fight and see this war to its end. Only then could he be sure that they would be safe from harm.
Fabio closed his eyes as a memory came to mind...

"Daddy." A six year old girl called out as she skipped through the tall grass.
"Yes, sugar pie?" Fabio smiled at his daughter.
