A couple more days passed with no progress made on the group's goals. They had shared each others' goals for the journey after passing the border that marked the Henshaw Dynasty's territory so that they could avoid getting in each others' way as much as possible. They had no intention of fostering hostilities among each other by hindering the other person's goals.
"I am honestly surprised that the dynasty does not have scouts reaching this far up north." Daniel said when they were eating on the evening of the fourth day.
"I'm not surprised." Malim shrugged. "The secret faction has been causing quite a bit of trouble for the king and his council members as of late. They need more hands on the inside to manage their affairs while they bolster their defenses and ready their men. The scouts that they have sent out patrol roughly half a day's journey from their walls at most."
