Lux watched this with a confused look on his face, but he said nothing about it. At least, not yet. He could talk to his son about it later, but he also knew that the bird would be of little harm to his daughter. She might be young, but she was far from helpless.
After Kai handed Heather the bird, he made his way back to the front, where his he and his father continued to lead the group. They hadn't even made it far when a shocking scene revealed itself on their path.
