Ito was left to gather her thoughts in the chaos left in the room, she suddenly realised that Jeanne was missing and came to the conclusion Darren must have sent her ahead to the target so he could keep on eye on the other two groups. Ito took Anya's bag and pistol and headed towards the staircase.
Jeanne found the server room fairly quickly and began setting up her hacking equipment, she was to far away to hear the battle going on below so she had no way of knowing that Ito was moving towards her. After she connected her portable pc to the servers she sat in a wheeled chair she had pulled over from one of the offices, she fired code after code into the server till she got through "Ouis!" she exclaimed getting through the security.
Jon cautiously approached the elevator expecting Darren to jump out at any moment while keeping an eye behind him for Ito, he looked down into the shaft and nothing, he wasn't to the left or right either. He noticed the elevator was no longer on the fourth floor "Damnit" he said realising Darren had sent Jeanne ahead to secure the server room he pressed the button for the elevator and took a defensive position. The elevator arrived and still no sign of Ito, he guessed she had come to the same conclusion and made for the stairs so he walked over grabbed Darren's taser and took the elevator to the tenth floor.
Darren was astonished, that kick blasted him, how much strength did that jackass possess, he had been launched through the open door to slam into the back wall of the elevator he kept enough of his wits about him to grab on with the climbing gloves before he fell to far. He saw Jon staring down from the opening fortunately he was far enough down and in the dark to be out of his sight, when he saw the cables begin to move he guessed Jon had called the elevator and began to form his next plan.
Ito had arrived at the tenth floor, she cautiously moved around the level sticking to the darkest of shadows, to her left she saw the elevator coming up, Jon or Darren must have won, either way it was bad news for her. She fished through Anya's bag and pulled out a flashbang, she rigged it so it would go off when the elevator doors opened and then made her way towards the server room.
It was a waiting game for Jeanne now, she had started the file download so she was just biding her time till Darren got there, she was convinced he wouldn't let anyone get to her without interfering so she wasn't to concerned. "Lucky me getting the top scorer on my team no?" she said to herself happily, Jeanne was indeed lucky since she turned the chair just as Ito fired at her, the back of the chair deflected the pellets. Jeanne hit the floor and rolled under the desk pulling out the pistol Darren had given her, another few pistol blasts came from the doorway, Jeanne heard the cracking sound of computer glass. She fired her pistol at the doorway not intending to hit but to keep the intruder from entering the room, the two girls heard a loud crack and someone cry out in the distance.
The elevator arrived at the tenth floor and as the doors opened a bright light blinded Jon and he cried out without intending to, he stumbled out of the elevator went to grab the wall but missed and fell on the floor. He knew he had to get to cover so he scrambled across the floor to a wall corner, hearing footsteps rapidly approaching he felt his way across the base of the wall till he found a doorway and hid inside.
Ito had fallen back to try to take out Jon before he recovered but by the time she got there all she saw was the open elevator door, the open hatch could be seen hanging down, assuming Jon had tried to hide above the elevator she made her way towards it.
Jon had fully recovered by the time the footsteps had receded, knowing Ito still had ammo and Jeanne hadn't shot yet as far as he knew he reached down to get the taser from his leg pouch, the pouch was open and empty. Jon cursed under his breath, he guessed it must have fallen out when he fell, he looked around the corner up and down the hall but didn't see anyone so he crept out towards the elevator to search for the taser.
Ito climbed up above the elevator and had a look around, surely Jon couldn't have climbed down in his condition, feeling satisfied he wasn't here she prepared to swing back down into the elevator, looking down she sees Jon directly below her looking for something. Surprised by the mans stupidity Ito points her pistol through the opening and unloads the last six shots in her clip pelting Jon in the head and face. Jon hits the floor and rolls over staring up at her through the opening a look of pure hatred on his face, Ito climbed down and left him to contemplate his defeat, "I guess Jon managed to beat Darren" Ito said to herself as she headed back towards the server room. "With just Jeanne left this shouldn't be to hard, she's athletic and talented but that skirmish earlier shows me she's not much for combat" Ito thought to herself while moving towards the room. As she came around the last corner towards the server room and pulled out Anya's pistol she felt cold metal pressed to her neck. "Don't make me press the button" came Darren's voice from behind her, Ito's shoulders slumped as she acknowledged her mistake of assuming Darren had been beaten, "How did you manage to trick that stubborn ass that you were gone" she asked.
"No one managed to secure a victory this time round" Dmitri said leaving no room for argument, "Darren's mercy cost his team the victory," Darren had chosen to capture Ito instead of incapacitating her, had she not destroyed the laptop Jeanne was using it would have been different. The laptop wasn't technically destroyed the plastic rounds merely cracked the screen however had they been real bullets the hacking attempt would have failed. "That being said Darren is taking top marks in this assignment, he conducted himself well, none of his movements were wasted, he made a plan and put it into motion given limited information." "Ito is taking second place, she noticed Jeanne's absence before anyone else and moved to neutralize her, had she not assumed Darren was defeated she could have taken the win." "I'm disappointed in the rest of you, Team Jon made no attempt for the hacking room and sought only to kill everyone, that wouldn't work in the field." "Jeanne you relied to heavily on your partner and were stuck when he wasn't around and Anya you froze up in a crucial combat situation putting your partner at a disadvantage." For the first time Jon wasn't giving Darren a hateful look, he couldn't stop glaring at Ito, the circular orange spots on his face from the air pistol made him look as if he had chicken pocks Darren could hardly suppress his rising amusement. "So the badass is an idioooot!" Anya exclaimed, Darren looked over at her and tossed his pencil in her direction, she ducked it "Missed meeee" she said teasingly. "Alright quiet down now, the next lesson is in the lab, espionage is more then just acquiring your target without being seen, once you reach the target you need to get into it" Mr. Semenov said. "So you'll need to learn about hacking devices and how to use them" Dmitri rounded up the class and had them follow him towards the private computer lab on the third floor.
The lab looked more like a hackers lair, it had an array of various devices, didn't have any physical pcs mostly tablets and laptops along with various other devices Darren hadn't seen before, Anya and Jeanne seemed to have a general knowledge of the various equipment. "I've set up a simple security system that you are all to successfully hack into by the end of the school week" Mr. Semenov said, he opened up a webpage for a company called Vibro Tech. Anya started laughing when she saw the name of the webpage, Ito blushed and Jeanne seemed confused, "Vibro would be some kind of vibration software no?" she asked the instructor, Anya started laughing harder.
The second class went by fairly fast Anya and Jeanne were the best at this kind of work the rest of the class were at a loss, before long Mr. Kozlov arrived to take them to the next class. "You're so meaaan" Anya said to Ito, "You just took my things without even mourning my untimely death!" Ito went red in embarrassment, "If you hadn't stared blankly in my direction she wouldn't have had to" Darren said smirking. "You try keeping your composure when some shadow literally flies out of the room when you thought it was empty!" Anya said in a huff "Where were you anyways! I looked everywhere." "You know everywhere includes above" Darren replied Anya had an expression of shock "You were looking down my shirt weren't you!" she said accusingly, "What? no, of course I wasn't" Darren replied hastily. "That seems like a fairly suspicious denial" Aleksi put in, "So I was busy at work while you were being a pervert no?" Jeanne added, "No of course not" Darren responded, "You can deny it all you want but we know the truth" Anya giggled.
