Ugh, it was the worst school year for Yi Rong. It had been a month since that thing with Cui Ting had happened, and she was still not over it. At least with Long Dandan she could just show up earlier for school to avoid her, but.....Yi Rong looked at the chair to her right, where Cui Ting was sitting. She really couldn't avoid Cui Ting with her sitting right there. And she smelt so good too! Why does she have to smell so nice all the time?! Yi Rong couldn't give in though, after what had happened at her house. She couldn't do that. Just then, the teacher entered the class with an announcement.
The art teacher and the class teacher, had decided that they should make things interesting for all the students. It was their last year, and it was easy to get senioritis, but they still needed to earn their grades. So, each of the classes had to perform a famous story as part of their final grade. The performances would happen two months from now, the week before Christmas. That would give all of them enough time to figure out who was playing what, and to get props made. The hard part was that they needed to take the story they were given and add a twist to it. Uh Oh. Yi Rong was skeptical. Their class would be doing Romeo and Juliet. What they chose to do from there was up to them. Yi Rong sighed. The rest of that class time could be spent on planning out what they were all going to do for the play. Yi Rong did not like the way this was going. She had a bad intuition.
Sun Guo told her to relax. He believed that they were gonna be okay. They had got Qin Yanmei on their side after all. Gao Qi agreed that they would be fine, with an actress like that on their team. Yi Rong looked over Cui Ting again. Cui Ting seemed conflicted, but didn't do or say anything outside of making eye contact with her. Yi Rong nearly got lost in her eyes until her classmate Mo Aiguo spoke up. Mo Aiguo enquired, "What about the twist, though? How do we make it different from the original?" The room was silent for several seconds, then Sun Guo spoke. He suggested that they could make it a lesbian love story. Instead of it being a boy and a girl, they would have two girl leads. Murmurs and nods of agreement passed around the room. Yi Rong felt that as usual she was about to get a lot of work dropped on her. Sun Guo announced that of course Qin Yanmei would be their Romeo.
But Qin Yanmei shook her head in disagreement. She said that she really didn't want to be the lead. She offered to do props or help with costumes and thought that her being the lead was not a good idea. Gao Qi exclaimed, " Why? Everybody loves you, Qin Yanmei! It would inspire everyone to have you as Romeo!" Everyone in the class agreed and said that they would love to see her act live! It was a dream come true for some of them! Frustrated Sun Guo blurted that she was a real celebrity and besides, they were thinking about making Yi Rong as her Juliet, but now she was refusing her role. Yi Rong heard the words leave Sun Guo's mouth before she could recognize what was being said, and she turned to look at Cui Ting. Everyone in the class would make Yi Rong do it anyways, so she thought that she might as well commit to it. And she accepted that she would be playing the role of Juliet. The whole class cheered for Yi Rong hoping that Qin Yanmei would also accept her role as Romeo. Qin Yanmei looked at them with a light smile and spoke that if Yi Rong was going to be Juliet, then she had no choice but to agree. Yi Rong blushed and her face changed into a shade of light a pink. Qin Yanmei added that if Yi Rong would not be her partner, then she'll have to decline the role as well. Yi Rong was now trapped for good and she was really not getting out of it now, for sure.
