Chapter 19 - CEO No More

Viel wipes his sweat as he finished moving all the boxes in the delivery car. He was moving back and forth carrying a couple of heavy boxes from the factory to the clients for five hours. It was exhausting, he still did not have his break. He insisted to work on his first day, of course, the employer like his determination hence, she gave him dozens of clients that need supplies at the moment.

He sighed as he never thought how hard this job is when he observes his employees when he was still a CEO.

The factory business he is currently employed in creates silk and other fabrics. They also sell curtains, carpets, pillowcases, blankets, and anything that is made from fabric or silk.

He grabbed a transparent plastic bag that is filled with cold water and creates a hole in it to satisfy his thirst. He sighed in relief as the cold water pass his throat.

"Here is another box, you need to deliver this at the plaza at seven o'clock pm." Informed by one of the clerks in the factory.

"Yes, sir!" Viel accepted another task gladly while his sweat falls on his face.

As he finished his drink, he hurriedly drives the delivery car to deliver all the boxes while carrying a towel on his shoulders.

While Viel is working. Jasmine is having a tough time acting fine even having a severe headache at the moment. She massages her temple as she sighed knowing that she had missed a couple of her therapy sessions. She grabbed the ointment in her bag and dig her finger on it then spread it on her forehead.

She is currently editing the articles that have been given to her by her colleagues. Most of the article talks about The Salvador Company while the others talk about a certain actress.

She continues to scroll and edit words and sentences in every article. She mostly changes words that are too vulgar and inappropriate to formal and appropriate words. She closed her eyes for a couple of minutes to free her eyes from radiation coming from her laptop screen. Her eyes had started to sweat as they keep read and searching words.

Jasmine rested for a while then began to continue her work.

"Want some coffee?" Her friend Hannah offered her.

"Yes please." She answered and grabbed the iced coffee handed by her friend. She felt as if her energy has been replenished when she sipped her iced coffee.

She opened her phone and check if Viel messaged her and he did.

"I have found a job!" She smiles as she read her boyfriend's text. She felt relieved knowing that he will be busy on something, with this Jasmine hoped that this would cheer him up a little.

"That's great! I am so proud of you; I know you can do it. Love you!" She typed her reply and added a kissing emoji to it. She did not wait for his reply as she is aware that he is also busy like her.

The couple had both works nonstop, they headed home individually and are both exhausted. Viel has a smile on his face as he proudly places the pack of fried chicken on their plate, while Jasmine places two glasses of water and plates for the two of them.

They smile at each other as they prepare their romantic dinner. Viel felt as if his heart melted as he sees how Jasmine appreciate this cheap dinner.

"Thank you." Viel broke the silence and said to Jasmine while he is holding a chicken wing.

"For what?" Jasmine asked him.

"For appreciating this cheap dinner of ours." Viel softly whispered as he felt insecure.

"Do not call it cheap. It is actually extraordinarily rich because we made this ourselves, with our hard work and passion." Jasmine explained to him lovingly.

Viel could not help but smile as he realized how lucky he is for having Jasmine as his lover and partner in life. He holds her hand and plant kisses on it. He stopped when he hears her giggle and look at her in her hazel eyes.

"I promise you; I will work hard so that I could give you the most luxurious wedding." Viel whispered and tears came out from his amber eyes. This is where he felt insecure because he might not give her the most beautiful wedding like he should have when he was still a billionaire.

"Viel, I do not need a luxurious wedding. As long as you are my groom, I am satisfied. You are enough for me." Jasmine told him as she tried to comfort him.

"Thank you, love, for believing me and being my strength." Viel softly mumbled and hugged her tightly while Jasmine hugged him back.

She closed her eyes as she embraces him. She remembers how exhausted he was when she saw him come home from his work. Little did Viel know, he is not the only one who feels insecure but also Jasmine.

Jasmine has been attacked by her insecurities for the whole day, she kept asking herself maybe if she left and gave him to Monica, he would not experience this kind of life. But knowing they could pass this obstacle, Jasmine sighed in relief as she justifies her decision.

"Are you tired?" She asked him softly as she caress his biceps.

"My body kind of sore." Viel answered her truthfully as he lay down on their bed beside Jasmine.

"Let me massage you." Jasmine said and sat on Viel's back and started caressing his back softly.

Her palm travels on his body as she spread the ointment on his back. Her hand alternately slapped his back slightly while Viel moaned in satisfaction.

Jasmine felt her cheeks blush as she finished giving him a massage and seeing him half-naked. She hugged him and rested her head on his bare chest.

"That was a good massage." Viel complimented her.

"I know." Jasmine cheekily answered.

"You still got it." Viel teased her and hold her waist closer to him.

"I might have forgotten things, but they still remain in me, my acts, and in my heart," Jasmine answered and kisses Viel and he gladly kisses her back until the night is over.

The next morning, the couple hurriedly ready themselves for their work. Jasmine went to the company while Viel headed to the factory while bringing a bottle of ice water.

He continued his delivery task and moves all the boxes from one storage to another. It was very tiring for he could not use the elevator to move these boxes.

After moving all the boxes, he was given a task that he needs to deliver fives boxes to a client in a minute. Unfortunately, he had not satisfied his client, so he was scolded by them. He did not know that he accidentally scratches the items and was wet by the water bottle that he brought.

"If you do not know how to do this simple thing, how did you become a CEO?" The angry client told him.

"I am sorry sir." Viel asked for forgiveness.

"This will reach your boss! I bet she will cut off your pay to teach you a lesson. Stupid deliverer." He scolded him and angrily left all the damaged items.

Viel watched as his raging client leave him, he kept bowing his head then sighed as he is worried about his wage getting cut off. His wages are not that high and if these damaged items will be needing to deduct his pay, he might have debt.

He went back to the factory with a problematic face. He showed the damaged goods to his employer and is waiting for her decision.

"It all costs one thousand seventy-eight pesos." His employer, Delia muttered in disbelief.

"Your salary for today is just one hundred twenty pesos." She continued and told Viel to put all the damaged items in the store along with other items that needed to repair.

"Not being careful," Delia whispered as she watches Viel leave her. When she did not see him anymore, she dialed someone on her phone.

"Ms. your recommended just damaged some of my items." She informed the other line.

"Minus it on his salary." Answered by a lady on the other line. Delia frowned at the lady's answer as she thought that the lady is willing to pay the damages.

Yes, Delia already deducted the balance from his pay but if the lady is willing to pay it, it is good for her, she could earn money fast, however, the lady from the other line did not.

"Okay Ms. Monica, but if this continues, I am sorry, but I will fire him." Delia told Monica.

"Try doing that without my permission and I promise you I will not order on you again plus I am a major investor in your business. So, watch what comes out from your mouth." Monica threatened Delia who is now pale because of fear.

"Y-yes Ma'am." Delia agreed in fear and waited for the other line to end the call.

Monica on the other hand is having a meal with his father who is strongly against her plan. They are currently in a restaurant where Viel used to dine with Jasmine. Monica wants to spend her precious time in luxury as she knows that the couple is having a hard time making money.

"Why don't you just forget him? He is now a peasant." His father hatefully said.

"A Salvador is always a Salvador." Monica meaningfully said, "Besides, I am sure once he knew who helped him get his job. He would leave her." She added.

"How sure are you?" His father questioned her.

"I am sure as hundred percent. With this, Viel would be practical and finally realizes that Jasmine could not satisfy him, that she is just an obstacle on his journey to success." She said and gently sliced her steak.

Monica enjoyed her steak as she imagined her plan coming true. She imagines that Viel left Jasmine in front of her, and Jasmine is begging her as she did. She loves it and it makes her feel alive.

"Watch out dear Jasmine. In just a snap, you will see how big our difference is." She said and sipped her wine.

"How dare you steal him from me? You could not even give him a penny." She mumbled and smirked, "While I can give him the world." She continued and laughed.
