Chapter 1 - Victoria's death

Since the day Victoria and Violet's parents died, their lives became difficult. Their parents died in an accident before the age of three. Violet and Victoria were raised by a school where their mother used to teach. Since they were orphans, they were not given equal opportunities as twins. The school tried their best to take care of the twins. Although only one of the twins would get the privilege of education. The education for the both of them was so expensive.

The school chose Victoria to get education and Violet to not. Victoria studied very well, passed excellently and became a big business woman in the New York City while Violet did not study at all. Violet worked as a tour guide in national parks in Africa.

Victoria was older than Violet. Victoria was tall, light-skinned, lean and beautiful. She was so rich and owned a lot of property around the world. She lived in a huge enormous white mansion in the New York. She was nominated businesswoman of the year, 2020. Victoria lived with her best friend who was also her personal assistant, Gray Joe.

Gray helped Victoria run her fashion and design company, Vivy. Victoria hired Gray but they later became great friends. Gray helped Victoria in everything, from household to business. Gray was a short, middle-aged and humble man. He was not talkative, he only spoke when asked. He wore round red glasses that made him look official. He was very good at his job.

Violet was a low income earner She lived in a two bedroom apartment with her best friend Karen. Violet was very identical to Victoria. The only difference between them was that Victoria had straightened out her black hair while Violet's hair was curly. Violet was also slightly slimmer than Victoria.

Violet was uneducated, she was only taught English and Maths.

Victoria had a successful fashion line, Vivy that sold shirts, jeans and jackets. Since Victoria left for New York, the twins had not seen each other. Victoria left when she was eighteen in 2014. They only used to talk through the phone. They really missed and loved each other. Victoria used to send money to Violet each month.

One day, as Victoria and Violet chatted over the phone, Victoria happily announced that she had booked tickets for Violet to come and visit her in the New York. Violet was ecstatic and in seventh heaven about the news. She could not believe she was going to see her long gone twin. That night, all she thought about was her visit to the beautiful city.

Violet prepared herself and went to the New York to see Victoria. Gray picked up Violet from the airport in a black shiny Range Rover. Gray introduced himself to Violet gladly and then drove to Victoria's mansion.

When Violet arrived at the mansion, she was dumbstruck by the beauty and massiveness of her sister's house. A large swimming pool and a backyard full of flowers looked magnificent from a distance.

Violet and Victoria started crying with joy immediately they saw each other. They hugged with excitement and glee. This was a moment that was heart warming for the twins. The sight of each other after a long time was a moment that would forever etch in their hearts.

No sooner had Violet entered the house than she was awestruck by how stunning Victoria's house looked. Violet gazed around the house with her mouth wide open.

The walls of the house were painted white in colour and there were gigantic paintings of dogs surrounding the house. In the sitting room, there was a small white coffee table with silver stands. On top of the table were three books, scented candles and a green colourless bowl filled with marbles. In front of the table was a LG tv with covetable curves and surrounding the coffee table were black sofas. Underneath was a grey flora carpet and on the ceiling was a crystal exquisite chandelier. A huge Christmas tree stood strikingly in the corner. Through the windows, lush gardens and glistening waters of the large swimming pool provided a magical view.

Victoria prepared a finger-licking meal for her twin Violet. Over the dinner, Victoria and Violet chatted and laughed a lot. Gray ate his meal silently.

Around the glass dining table, Victoria, Violet and Gray sat on brown leather chairs with a lot of dishes in front of them.

'Tomorrow, I would like you to come to my office and we pull off a prank on my employees,' Victoria said, as she ate her dessert, a slice chocolate cake.

'That sounds fun. Do they know you have a twin?' Violet said, taking a scoop off her strawberry ice cream.

'No. I have never told them. Tomorrow, let's surprise them,' Victoria said sipping on a glass of red wine.

'Ok, ' Violet said as she smiled.

'I have a surprise for you and Gray tonight. Don't ask me anything now. I will tell you after you go diving with me,'

'Diving!' Violet exclaimed in shock.

'Yes, put on your swimming costume let's swim,'

Victoria was a diving and swimming expert. Victoria and Violet wore their swimming costumes and walked to the swimming pool. Violet did not know how to dive, she was so scared but Victoria assured her everything would be fine.

'Go first and I will follow,' Victoria told Violet .

'I have never done this before,' Violet complained.

'Don't worry you will be fine,' Victoria said this as she pushed Violet with all her might off the diving board and into the pool.

Violet fell in the pool unexpectedly. As soon as Violet fell in, Victoria also fell in the pool next. Violet got up from the pool in anger of being pushed off the board, only to find Victoria's body floating in the pool. Blood from the body slowly surrounded the pool with it's red colour.
