Chapter 49 - 7:00pm

Janvier was helping Sophia wash the dishes after dinner. There was an uncomfortable silence between the two friends ....only the sounds of dishes clashing against each other.

Sophia's heart beat rapidly as she snuck a look at the time piece on the wall. 7:pm.

"You need to see the new designer outfits that Veronica has in store for us. Tomorrow....the living room is going to be packed"

"Uh... yeah sure"

"I'm so happy for her you know. She never wanted help from Jason despite the fact that he could sponsor her single-handedly. She had always believed that if she wanted to be the successful Fashion designer that she wanted to be, she had to be independent. She had to earn her success"

Sophia just nodded. As the dishes on the sink got smaller, more blood drained from her face.

Janvier looked at her. "Are you okay?"

Sophia managed to smile. "I'm just tired. That's all"

"Well you should go get some rest. We will all be busy tomorrow for the party preparations. I'll finish up"

"Oh no no no. I'll finish up" Sophia said quickly.

Janvier rolled her eyes. "Come on now go to bed Soph. Goodnight".

Slowly, Sophia retreated. "Goodnight" She said softly. Then she left the kitchen. She ran into the guest room and into her room.

She took a quick shower. She would stay in her room all night. Jason might have slept off by now. Maybe he would forget about their plans tonight. She put on a different night shirt which was a bit longer than the one she wore yesterday.

She locked her door and lay on her bed. She hadn't closed her eyes for a minute when there was a knock on her door. She ignored it. It came again. Not to loudly. But abruptly as the first knock.

She went to the door but she didn't open it.

She looked through the key hole and could see someone in a tank top and matching sweat pants. It was Jason.

"Open up Princess. Did you really think I'd forget about our plans tonight" He whispered.

Her heart pounded as she backed the door trying to steady her breath. She ignored him.

"I know you're in there. Open up"

She still didn't say anything.

"I'm the owner of this house Sophia. Didn't it occur to you that I have the spare keys to your room"

Her eyes widened.

"So open up. If I have to open up myself, I'll make you regret it"

There was silence.

Suddenly the door opened and he came face to face with Sophia. She was obviously not happy. He smirked as he scanned her from head to toe. He bit his lips and smiled. She glared at him.
