Chapter 12 - Break-in

Sophia covered her mouth in shock once she sees her father. She couldn't move or say a word. Adrian himself was even surprised. He couldn't remember pulling the trigger. Sophia fell on her Dad crying. She then turned to Adrian

"You!"

"You're the one who pulled the trigger princess. Not me "

"You killed my father" She stands up taking the gun which Hugo had left behind on the table. She aimed it at him. Adrian wasn't shaken one bit

"Do you even know the first thing about using a gun"

"If that's why you're so calm and unshaken...you've ran out of luck because I know exactly how to pull the trigger"

Adrian raised up the remote to remind Sophia that Pearl was still tied up in the basement.

Sophia lowered the gun. She looked so pale. All hope was lost. She couldn't do anything now. Not when her sister was still trapped.

"Take me to your room"

Sophia threw the gun on the ground. The look on her face showed that she was not happy at all.

She started going upstairs as if in a trance. Adrian followed with a satisfied look on his face.

Once they got inside, Sophia immediately started looking for the loose plank by matching every corner of her room. Just beside her bed she matched a plank that sounded quite different from the others.

"That's it. Now quick" Adrian said. He could hear the cops come inside. He was surprised how they managed to get inside the house.

Sophia fell on her knees. Her eyes blinded by tears as she removed the plank. She didn't find anything inside. Could her father had lied. No he couldn't. He knew how precious she was to him. He knew what would happen to her if he had played Adrian.

"It's not here"

"What!!!!"

Suddenly the cops rushed in. And immediately Adrian grabbed Sophia from behind and placed the gun to her head. The cops also aimed at him with their guns but stopped in their tracks seeing Sophia in that state.

"What are you waiting for. Shoot him!!"

Sophia shouts struggling with Adrian.

The cops couldn't do anything. They just stared at each other saying nothing.
