She was heartbroken and enraged that the girl left the guy because he kidnapped her, all he wanted was love, couldn't she see that? A knock startled her and she whispered "Come in", she spoke as she wiped her tears. "Lia baby? Why are you crying?", a rough but soft voice came out, it was her dad. As soon as Lia heard him, she whispered "Daddy, you should have called me", her voice still gruff from crying.
Ricardo, Lia's father came and hugged his daughter. Over the period he got possessive over her, all after his wife, Malissa passed away. Of course, it was a natural death, otherwise, Riccardo wouldn't have spared anyone. Anglos were highly respected and people knew it was better not to mess with them. But there was one other person besides Riccardo;
Valente, as the years passed by, got extremely possessive of Lia, all the house staff appointed went through a background check first and then appointed, Lia wasn't allowed to leave the house at any cost, and if anyone was found suspicious, Valente would take care of the matter himself.
Riccardo eyed the book on her reading nook, wearing a white flowy mini dress with self-tie shoulder straps she sat still wiping her tears, he sighed knowing his daughter and threw the best possible news to lift her mood. "Lia princess, you know right that Valente is coming today?", as soon as he said the words, Lia looked at her father, excitement, and happiness gleaming in her blue orbs. Smiling shyly, she wiped her tears and was about to run when her father grabbed her from behind, "You need to eat breakfast first", and pulled her to the dining hall, with a whining Lia telling her father how breakfast isn't important and she already had a chocolate bar. All the way Riccardo shook his head still pulling her to the dining hall.
She finally stopped whining seeing a plate full of waffles with hot chocolate, and ran towards the table, she sat swinging her legs and having breakfast, unaware of someone who she truly missed, food prioritized. Munching on her food with the biggest smile someone could ever have, two hands covered her eyes, and the next moment she snapped her head to her left so hard that Riccardo thought, she will break it.
"VALENTE!", Lia shouted and hugged him as if her life depended on him. She hung to him like a koala, while he laughed and a smile beamed on his face. Rare. After Malissa's death, many things changed and one of them was Valente, the boy wasn't the same cheerful boy anymore. He never allowed anyone near him, except Riccardo and Lia, even the maids weren't allowed to clean his room except Lia. Riccardo laughed and kissed Lia's forehead and went off to work, leaving the kids. with Lia waving at him energetically, "Bye-bye papa".
"I missed you soo much baby girl", Valente said with Lia clinging to him, as he moved to his room, pecking her cheek now and then. "I'm not a baby anymore", Lia said scrunching her nose, her eyes squinting, making him chuckle. Lia pouted, not liking being called a baby because she was now an adult. When they reached his room, Valente made her sit on the vanity table and loosened his tie, "For me, you will always be one", he said rubbing his nose with her, earning a sweet giggle from her, " Eskimos", Lia let out a squeal when she was suddenly tackled and Valente started tickling her. "STOP VALENTE!", Lia screamed bursting into fits of giggles. Finally, after what felt like an hour, Valente moved back, his eyes gleaming with a different shine, a bundle of happiness in his arms. "You know you should get married Valente, I want to play with my nieces and nephews, soon you will be old and get white hair and no one will marry you", Valente smiled at his girl's thoughts and gave a kiss on her nose speaking in a soft voice "I'm not marrying anyone Lia", which made her upset and once again she pouted. How can he marry someone when all he always want is Lia, anyone could tell by just the way he looks at her, anyone but Lia.
Smiling at her, pecking her forehead once again, he left to take a shower meanwhile Lia left the room, giggling and skipping to the living room, sitting by the fireplace and admiring the soft pitter-patter of rain outside with a soft blanket covering her. Over time, staying indoors made Lia sensitive to harsh weather. It was almost evening when Riccardo came back home and called Valente in his office. Coming to his office, Valente sat before Riccardo, "it's time". Who knew two words could change someone's life? Giving a curt nod to Riccardo, Valente left the office.
