Like a blink of an eye, we arrived in front of the 24/7 convenient store. And, as expected, Arya immediately went inside. The store was just like any convenient store where racks are lined up holding all sorts of items from food, drinks, toiletries, and even some beauty products. As soon as we enter the store, we were greeted by a friendly looking old man. The old man wears a plain green t-shirt with a simple black name pin firmly attached on his shirt. Written on that name pin is the word 'manager'.
"Hello Mister Manager, the two of us want to actually ask something. Is it alright to have a chat with you for a while?" Arya asked without even a hint of shame.
The manager, caught off guard by the sudden request, simply nodded and smiled at the two of us.
"So, I'm going to make this short. Is it really true that you make foods for the angels here?" Arya immediately asked as soon as the manager agreed to talk to us.
"What? You are going to ask it like that?" I interrupted in surprise. I envisioned it to be more subtle. Like we investigate first, ask for information, and then solve the mystery. But it seemed like Arya had a different approach to this.
"What else can we do? It is the best course of action."
With that sudden question, the manager simply laughed. He looked at the two of us and simply said, "That was 10 years ago. We no longer serve such thing."
"What?" Arya shouted almost forgetting all the respect she needed when talking to someone older. "So you mean you did serve foods for the angels?"
"Well, that was years ago already. It was our store's 10th anniversary so we decided to serve a special dessert called 'Taste of Heavens'. It was a limited offer special cake." The manager replied with a soft giggle. "I remember when a boy asked me if that cake is actually the food of angels."
"So there really was a food like that." Even I was shocked with the sudden revelation. I mean, who would've thought that something from Arya's notebook was actually real. That, in itself, was surprising.
"Well, thank you for your time mister Manager. Too bad we won't be able to taste that special cake. I hope someday you'll sell it again. We'll surely buy that. We'll be going now." Arya declared one-sidedly as she bows politely. I soon followed the gesture after giving Arya an exasperated look.
