Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 (Running with a rough crowd)

Before Severus and the rest could reach the exit of the ship the crowd had already reduced to a miniature amount making it easier for Alberto's men to spot them easily.

They walked as a group, Severus was in front, Chiara and Marchisio flanked him, Lorenzo was behind, they all laid their heads low while forging ahead towards the Exit door with brittle steps.

"Halt! You all" A man screamed at a group of a crowd that was almost about to go out of the ship, amidst the crowd was Severus and the rest.

Everyone halted, including Severus and the rest.

Two of Alberto's men started taking steps towards them, probably coming to surf through the crowd, the men put up a mean face that scared every peasant in the crowd, shafts of fear traveling all through their veins every second.

Urine dripped out of a greybeard in the crowd, pangs of freight had him lose the ability to hold up.

Alberto's men spotted the man who had messed up his pants out of freight, it griped their attention at the moment.

"Homo Sordida" one of the soldiers yelled at the man and afterward Cackled at the ridicule.

The soldiers grabbed the old man's pants, attempting to rip them off his legs.

"Have mercy on an old peasant like me" the helpless old man pleaded, his legs were wobbly out of freight it had taken a lot of his strength.

The soldiers pulled his baggy pants, they had ripped the side of his left pants, the crowd of peasants couldn't do more than watch, condemning the act in their minds.

"Asinus," the soldiers said as they ripped the left side of his pants completely.

The soldiers threw the piece of clothing away and griped on the right leg, one would presume they would expose the old man's undies or nakedness given how harsh they were towards him, ripping his pants within seconds.

A huge impact rammed against one of the soldiers back heads,

He slumped effortlessly.

The second soldier looked up to have a view of the peasant that dared to lay their filthy peasant hands-on someone high classed.

The soldier's eyes met with that of Severus, he rammed a fierce punch against the soldier's nose, very fierce that it crushed his bones and flattened his nose.

He couldn't breathe anymore as a result of a flat nose, the soldier jittered on the floor for a while, before becoming motionless.

It didn't take long, some ranging soldier's eyes caught the scene.

"Occidit Unum ex Nobis!" The soldiers yelled at Severus who was standing before the two dead bodies.

He needn't anyone to mention the word "Run" to him, he took to his heels immediately, the whole crowd followed him behind, for everyone is guilty if a person as high classed as a soldier dies in either your vicinity or presence.

The once still crowd turned into a harsh crowd, heels stomping hard on the floor as they all ram down the ship,

"excommunicare eos!" One of Alberto's men shouted.

Alberto and a few of his men egressed out of the cabin, cause they had been hearing screams and sounds of feet stomping on the wooden floors of the ship.

The first thing Alberto caught sight of were two of his men laying on the floor, demised.

"Who did this?" Alberto asked the soldier who screamed excommunicare eos, he was standing before the demised men.

"Peasants, they have all run off" the soldier replied fawning in his behavior, it pleases Alberto to see people being servile before him, he had every reason to punish the soldier, but the soldier's servility bought him Alberto's mercy, he was spared the ordeal of failing in his duties.

"We are going after those peasants, are we will kill 'em"

"Abeamus!" Alberto yelled, his men tailed behind him, and all strode off the ship to run down the peasants.

Meanwhile...

In the premises of the docks, the crowd took a road that leads to the city Artisan market, a bridge separated the Artisan market from the docks, the crowd encroached the bridge made of wooden tiles that ran across a flowing river, below the bridge was a great height whoever falls off the bridge has every chance of not surviving, for stagnant rocks protrudes out from shallow depths the flowing River.

"This bridge can't hold a huge number, we need to cross in two's or threes" A middle-aged man cautioned, for he had crossed the bridge a couple of times, and known how lose the wooden tiles had become.

Some amongst the crowd knew of it too, so most concurred to move in three's.

As the first set of three people were crossing the bridge,

Alberto Ferrari and his men appeared behind the crowd, Coming at them in great speed, Making of grounds enormously within seconds.

It spread panic within the crowd,

"I don't think we can wait Anymore"

"Any moment from now they will reach here"

Many people complained, Alberto and his men kept coming ever closer, the whole crowd including Severus, Lorenzo, Marchisio, and Chiara, went into the bridge at once,

The bridge danced side to side, due to rugged and unsynchronized motions from the people on it,

It threw a lady off into the flowing River, everyone watched as the lady smashed her head against a rock, her head shattered as though it was a watermelon.

It was a dreadful withal scary view for every eye witnessing it.

It didn't stop the crowd from struggling,

Albert Ferrari and his men had already reached the bridge, Alberto came behind a man who was the last in the bridge, Alberto sliced his back with his sword,

The man fell effortlessly, ramming a huge impact on the bridge, it caused the bridge to dance ruggedly, it threw off a teenager into the river, the crowd watched as he smashed his leg on a stagnant rock, it separated his right leg from the rest of his body.

Everyone dreaded it in their mind and kept moving,

Having eliminated three people and three other people making it to the ends of the bridge the weight on the bridge was reduced.

It danced not too ruggedly, the rest of the Crowd that remained on the bridge moved slowly and steadily till they all made it out of the bridge,

Whoever that made it across the bridge took to their heels heading towards the Artisan market.

Alberto Ferrari's men took their turns immediately, they crossed in three's across the bridge with swift steps.
