"No matter what you'll say, I'll get my info on that guy anyway. If I got that right, this bastard is terrorizing an orphanage... those are the people I'll turn into a kebab first." Kaiyo didn't let go of Tomoe's shoulder, but Miyo quickly puller Kaiyo's hand off her shoulder.
"Calm your tits. Don't let wrath out just yet... Tomoe, please tell us what's going on here."
Tomoe's gaze shifted between the two women while she covered Sasara's ears with her hands to not have him hear Kaiyo's rough way of talking. She still wanted to keep them out of it, but now Fudo and these two were pressing her to talk, and she could even feel a piercing stare from Aiko stabbing her back.
"F...fine... I suppose." She sighed as she left the room, signaling them to follow her. "Aiko, can you stay here and watch the other three?"
"...Why can't I come with you?" The girl asked, obviously being upset about being left out again, but Tomoe didn't budge. She just threw the girl another deep glare before Aiko gave in and nodded.
As the others left the room, Fudo slightly pet the girl's head to at least console her a little before he followed the three women. Aiko only sat down on the bed, starting to pout as Sasara sat down next to her. He seemed somewhat down while looking up at her, slightly twisting his thumbs, which Aiko immediately realized.
"Is everything okay? They didn't scare you, did they?" She asked with a slight smile, but it didn't take long for Sasara to speak up.
"I'm sorry..." He said, which threw her off a bit.
"H-huh? For what?"
"For...making fun of your ghost...it really does exist, right?"
Aiko didn't really know what to answer. She only now realized she finally had proof to show that she wasn't just seeing things. She looked above her, wanting to take Trigram so Sasara could try feeling him too, but she couldn't find him. She suddenly started looking around the room.
"Yes, he is real! He also started to move on his own now!" She started smiling as she found the orb hovering above the twin's bed, the two lights that were representing his eyes facing down as if he was looking at them. "He's over there right now."
Trigrams 'eyes' turned over to the two children, and he hovered in their direction. Sasara couldn't see anything, but Aiko was more than just excited about what was happening since this was the first time she ever saw him move anywhere that wasn't directly above her head.
The orb laid himself into Aiko's hands, and she immediately held him towards Sasara, who didn't exactly realize what she was doing. He took a bit to catch onto the situation, but after that, he hesitantly reached his hand towards her's. His fingers didn't take long to meet what he perceived as just air, but he obviously saw his hand pressing against something.
His eyes seemed confused yet intrigued by it. He was scared, but he still put his other hand on the ghost. Aiko only paid attention to someone finally noticing his existence. Her smile was nearly wide enough to reach her ears.
Meanwhile, the four people outside weren't nearly smiling as much as the two inside. The only person that had a slight smile on her lips was Miyoko.
"So... please tell me more about that Tsubasa guy... preferably everything," Kaiyo said after leaning against the wall behind her. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, closely watching Tomoe.
"Did you see anything weird from him? It's believable that at least one or two other people here have espers as well, but aren't without fraction... like that justice warrior from earlier." Miyoko added, scratching her chin as she looked up between the two.
"Ah, so you got that weird feeling from him too?"
"That guy looked at us and believed you carry a toy sword around for me without even touching it or making sure in another way... I mean, sure, it could be a fake sword, but it's still dangerous! No actual cop would just let you go like that... my guess lies on a spy from Genesis."
"You mean you think there's some kind of esper user, or host, or however you call those because a cop let you go off without checking your sword?" Fudo asked, looking at both of them, but Miyo just giggled.
"There's a slight feeling you have to those who have espers. For example, Aishi should feel a massive difference between Tomoe and me since one is an Esper, and the other isn't. This is like another sense, it's natural to feel different, but you can never be sure, the same was with that policeman." Miyo answered near immediately.
"To add to that, all espers have attributes and types to them... though as a god Miyo only has that. You have an actual attribute, Fudo. You may have no esper, but to see them Miyo gave you the scanner attribute, you can not only read the information about different espers, but you can pinpoint the location of Esper users."
"That... she can give that to any person and didn't do it to herself?" Fudo asked, his eyes staring at the two a bit bewildered.
"You've been granted with knowledge of the god of knowledge. Did ya ever see a god grant themselves their power? Only humans can receive this. Esper users and she herself can't receive those, granting these is one of her specialties as the strongest passive esper.
"That's not the topic, you two! What I meant is, I can, as every other person, only feel the presence of another esper, not pinpoint them as you do. I'm not just assuming he was an esper user because he wasn't careful with his job. I'm thinking this because he had a weak aura around him. If I dare assume something, I'd say he has an attribute that allows him to lightly weaken his presence." Miyo again said while scratching her chin.
"He was pretty careful, but he stared at us for way too long...maybe he's an assassin type. If he was someone from the idiots at Genesis, then there is no doubt he knew about Excalibur."
"And about Aishi? If that guy was just walking around here, he must have seen Aishi's esper sometimes, right?" Fudo asked, quite uneasy. Aiko was attacked already because of Trigram, after all.
"The...Yami, or whatever he was called... was he from "Genesis" as well?" He added, looking directly at Kaiyo.
"I wouldn't know how a company set in the US would get info on Trigram being here before us... I mean, Rikunohe isn't really a big town either. Heiwaga, however, is set in Kyoto. If she made a ruckus, then our scouts would've found her just as they did with Fufu. I greatly doubt they send a single spy for that into a town like this... and you also can't control a Yami to do that." Miyo constantly walked in circles while talking, looking around between Kaiyo, Fudo, and Tomoe, until she suddenly realized something.
"Wait, didn't we come for something different?"
"I was scouted by someone?"
"Tsubasa, who is that?" Kaiyo asked again, blushing a bit out of embarrassment for pulling everyone out to talk about him and then being the first to get distracted. Tomoe didn't seem to like her question, though. She was hoping that they would forget about Tsubasa. She wanted to keep them out of this and wished to not be involved in a rebellion against him either.
She looked around between the three too. She thought if she should actually do this, but again she sighed and finally gave in. "Tsubasa... Watanabe, he's the leader of what comes closest to a mafia around here. He's something like..."
"An underground king... we know enough about those." Kaiyo broke into Tomoe's speech. She leaned her head against the wall as well, looking up at the ceiling before she signaled her to go on.
"Tsubasa... is the reason the police is near powerless in this town. He's weakening the police, letting criminals use this town as a kind of sanctuary. He's keeping those away from the shops, school, and even from us...but only if we can pay the protection fee. He's raising that fee however and whenever he wants to, and we can't live with that and only a simple government fund...so the children began working part-time as well."
Miyoko raised her hand before asking, not wanting to cut into Tomoe's word. "Then I believe... the three boys are too young to work, Aishi is staying to help you here... but what is Fufu doing?"
"Fudo is... doing his own thing. 'Ironskin' is something like this town's own hero... but he's just a child. His asking is hard enough to resist a knife, but Tsubasa isn't hesitating to shoot a child... that's what we all realized too late."
"What...?"
"Fudo wasn't always the oldest child here. We... used to have two children that just as Fudo refused any adoption, they wanted to stay here with us, but then Tsubasa came. They and Fudo were the first to fight back and...it's...they..."
"Both of them were shot, and I survived because the bullets couldn't properly penetrate my skin...that bastard took me to their warehouse and used me as a sandbag... a "sweet little warning to all other heroes" is how he called that."
Without another word, silence began to fill the room. No eyes met that moment. All of them were looking to the ground. That was until the room suddenly began to shake. It was like a small earthquake took control over the room. Fudo immediately recognized the feeling that the earthquake gave him, and indeed, the moment he looked towards Kaiyo, he felt as if he was looking at an erupting sun.
"I'd like to welcome the queen...but keep your ass down, Arthur." Miyo's body began to vibrate for a split second. She stared up and straight into Kaiyo's eyes. The earthquake grew double... no thrice its previous strength, but that same second it disappeared without a trace. There was no sign of any unusual activity anymore, the quake stopped, but Fudo suddenly felt as if his organs were being ripped apart from the inside. As if there was something stronger than the mixed quake from the two women.
"An erupting sun... and a black hole." He muttered under his breath, dropping on his knees from the pressure before both of them stopped entirely.
"Fudo?"
"Y...yeah?" He answered while holding his chest, looking up at Kaiyo. The intimidating aura didn't fully disappear, just enough that it stopped harming him.
"You said you were taken to the warehouse of those bastards... do they still use that?"
"Yeah, they didn't change it 'cause they think no one's gonna get them in there."
Silence filled the room once more. Tomoe, who apparently didn't feel a bit of the pressure Fudo did, was completely excluded from the conversation. She felt as if they were already gone, no place for her to join into, but she still tried to somewhat follow them. "Tsubasa stores his goods in there, and his men partially live in the warehouse. Tsubasa himself isn't doing more than checkups in there."
"There we got it." Miyo sighed, returning to her usual smile. "Kaiyo, you take Fufu and go for the warehouse. I stay here with Aishi and wait for Zen to come. Before that, Tomoe, the question I asked before we got distracted... is there anything special about Tsubasa?"
"Inhumane strength...or that's how it felt, at least. His punches back then were like the one I took from that Yami guy... his punches were the only ones that actually gave me bruises... the only ones that hurt." Fudo answered as he struggled to stand up.
"I'm sure... that guy isn't different. From what I saw today, I'm actually sure... Tsubasa has an esper."
"Preparation finished. Kaiyo, don't kill 'em if they're independent."
"I'll see." Kaiyo didn't say any more than that. She grabbed Fudo by the shoulder and helped him stand up before she dragged him with her.
"And you should go look after Aiko... I made sure I only affected this room, but I doubt a small earthquake would leave her unfazed."
Both of them left the orphanage without wasting a single second. They didn't even talk under themselves.
