We reached town and headed straight for our dad's bar, The Watering Hole. My sister and I have worked here ever since high-school and Dad wants to leave it to us when he does end up retiring. He had told us it has always provided for us and he'd like it to continue to provide for my sister and I.
We pulled in to the parking area and we spotted my dad's truck, parked next to him, and got out. Once inside the bar we found Dad going over the inventory.
"Hazel, you alright girl?" he called to us without looking up from what he was doing.
"Yeah dad I guess I had a few too many after closing up I must have just walked home through the woods." I responded trying to convince me and him.
He did stop and look at me this time," you sure you're alright?"
"Yes dad I just wanted to thank you and Opal for getting my stuff back to me, I guess I just wasn't myself last night." I coax. 'I'm still trying to wrap my own head around my bizarre morning I dont want to worry anyone just yet.'
I bide my goodbyes to my dad and twin and left. I drove to the nearest drive-thru got some cheap breakfast and back to my house to start picking up my mess. What I did not expect was to see a letter sitting on my front porch when I got home.
I stooped over and picked it up. Inside the blank white envelope was a small white card with neat printed hand writing.
"Dearest Hazel,
You are here by invited to dinner at Sir Ash Blacksburg's estate. 7:00 pm Aug. 24th 2516 Summer forest Dr."
"Ash Blacksburg" I thought to myself "who the hell is Ash Blacksburg?"
I let myself in the house and started picking up.
