Chapter 2 - Money

Money or the magical equivalent, is probably the most important resource you will ever find. It should be the first thing you look for, and the first thing you try to find a consistent amount in. It will give you the ability fund your travels and exploits, allow you to get new equipment when one pair breaks, and allow you to sleep in a bed.

Being able to travel around in a fantasy world is almost guaranteed. Although many may have different circumstances, the general idea is the same. No matter if your reborn as a young farmer, summoned on accident, or summoned to fight the evil (creature) that plagues the world, all cases will have you going through forests, walking down paths, and following rivers. But in almost every case you need somewhere to sleep. If you're lucky, then someone else who will pay for it, and if you're REALLY lucky - you never need to pay for anything.

But being able to travel around is fun and all but when you have no clean clothes to change into, nor clean bed to sleep on, then your entire journey will be torture. Having no money to rent an inn for 1 night is fine, but pushing past that is dangerous and physical activate can be difficult. You could faint at almost any moment + movement will be tough. Reaction speed decreasing by the second will make you trouble even catching yourself if you tripped, let alone attacking a creature running at you. Your heartrate will decrease, causing you to get colder easier, and you will heal slower too. Natural defenses of your body will deteriorate as your immune system becomes easier and easier to compromise. AND THATS AFTER JUST 2 DAYS!!!

Getting a good nights rest isn't only to help clear your mind and make you think faster and be happier throughout the day, it may save your life.

New equipment will always be a must. From a disguise to fool your trackers, to the final armor to fight the evil (creature), you need adequate armor to fend of foes and forces. Be it dragon scale armor to fend against the most powerful of enemies, to the light leather of a dears pelt, you need money to buy it. Good protection against swords and magic will be expensive and hard to come by through travels, and armor made to protect against both may be bad in both regards while being just as expensive as good quality equipment in just 1 category, or it could be good in both regards but only fit for nobles of high class and royalty.

But armors and clothes are necessary to protect against assailants, but the forces of nature can be just as bad. Insulated clothing will save your life throughout cold snaps or winters that may happen while you are there. But fluffy clothes will almost always be too expansive and large to carry around without something to protect it, so instead aim for insulation in 4 places.

Head

Neck

Feet

Crotch

These places allow you to where armor around them or over them, while also allowing you to keep yourself warm, these places put out the most body heat and are more susceptible to frostbite. Being cold slows you down more than any fur would. Being able to beat the cold is the second most important thing about armor. The first is water and salt. Make sure when wearing heavy armor or insulated armor, while doing any exercise will cause you to sweat.

So make sure to pack your bags and prepare.

Because now you know one more thing about another worlds
