Allen was not that concerned with winning as soon as possible, as much as he was about protecting himself from getting zeroed in on the fight. The opponent this time was also of high caliber with a variety of skills. They also could somehow equip 4 skills because of the restriction being lifted. Allen did not have many choices in that matter, but the opponent did, and he used that to its fullest.
The audience was also getting riled up due to him bringing a new flavor into every fight with his showy skills that were of a different variety in every match. Allen counted he had used 8 skills right now and still counting.
The analysis skill was not at its full potential and that's why the enemy after already accustomed to his patterns from seeing them before, maybe? He had quite a good grasp on him right from the start, that's why he got the upper hand majority of the time. The man was fighting without the same concerns that Allen had in his mind, probably.
Allen thought, 'So the things that do whisper can't be from this world and should have not have influenced them. That is apparent from his carefree attitude towards fighting to the death here'
Actually, Allen wanted to confuse the others with his arguments before. He did not want to tell the main reason he believed the whispers were not from the creature in the real world. The audience, or rather these NPC in front of him and others all around him and this system, were the main reason. His in-game teacher also contributed to that.
First, some type of creature attacking story was also relevant here, but there was no such story of any creature that could induce such alarming effects being in one of the creatures.
Others would have said it was absurd to guess out the information and types of the creatures they form facing from the knowledge that was pre-programmed who knows how many years ago, that's why he didn't want to tell others about this thing.
There was also some level of uncertainty in his heart about this, but this audience and these people….
Allen talked a little and riled the opponent up to which he responded smilingly instead of a response like just attacking in an angry state or something. It was because of excitation. Now, it could probably be a state in the game that was induced due to him being in the arena, but Allen didn't think so. He deliberately selected this person, because he previously knew some layer of his personality when he had interacted with him.
Allen could see that he had known him completely. The arena had revealed yet another of him. This showed how complex was his design, this was too much of a thing to be programmed easily, and at every random individual NPC.
The servers were running separately without a management team right now because of the disaster that had struck and that's why they must be in low-power mode, with lower resources to every area, but what he saw of this game clearly told him of the contrary.
The man was very exhausted soon…Allen tried to delve into him a bit about that.
Allen said, "Aren't you exhausted quickly because of all those showy moves"
The man said, "It takes a lot of stamina, little brother. You are not entertaining the audience, so I have to do all the work here. I also have been sitting just around here all this time that you were gone, because I was among the ones who wanted to see a fight. I didn't even take sleep because of the anticipation and anxiousness."
Allen thought 'You look more than a little pleased with entertaining the audience though'
Allen also tried to please the audience as he said, but he lacked skills and such experience, still, the audience quite liked just anticipating who was going to take the day today.
Allen waited for around 9 matches before using his full-blown skills, the analysis as giving a good amount of synergy to other skills now and soon in the 10th match he could secure victory with some 10% hp remaining, which increased to around 20% by the time they had gone to 20 something matches.
Allen finally won more matches than there were drawn and hence with no loss, he was declared the winner….but actually, the other one looked more pleased than him after those fights.
He came to Allen smilingly. He said, "Brother, sorry for all the trouble I gave you before. Although I justified it, I know it was hard on you. I know you will be the leader officially and a leader should not have ill towards the ones he is going to lead. Why don't you just punish me with something now so that this matter is dealt with right now?"
Allen looked at what he was saying in front of everyone else, but he saw others did not object to what the man said. After ensuring that it didn't seem it was not the last test or something like a moral check, he finally thought about it. It impressed him that it was indeed what the man said, an attempt from him to ensure that the leader didn't start off with an ill-feeling towards his futures subordinates.
Allen felt a little wowed by this, but he soon calmed himself down. He finally could open his mouth. He said, "What you did before was clearly unacceptable. First, you gave protection to a stranger, then left him alone after finding out that he might be in trouble. Your punishment I have already thought after all this time, you know what it is?"
The man scratched his head and asked," I am kicked?"
Allen said, "No. FIRST of all, you will work as my advisor as compensation, secondly you may not go back on your promise ever again."
The second thing he had only said to this person, but actually, he felt there was some kind of unknown effect on all the people present here. He just kind of felt it.
The system was looking as an observer all this time and had stopped its live commentary for some time now. It also seemed to be affected a little by what just happened. It seemed strange to Allen.
There were no surprises, and the system declared him the winner, although it was peculiar that it stopped for a moment and added that Allen would now be the new leader with the consent of the previous leaders.
There was some level of communication with other previous leaders as was expected, but the word used was leaders and not leader, which caught his attention. He asked the system, but it said this is classified for now….which made him go, 'Brother system, I am the leader now, aren't I?'
