The library seems more crowded than usual, and I didn't want too many eyes on my work.
Suggesting for us to sit in the Young Adult section in the corner. After getting comfortable at the table, Becca starts staring at me.
After minutes of convincing Becca to shut up and to keep this whole thing secret.
"Sooooooo... am I now like your assistant? or your sidekick!" Excitement in Becca voice
Keeping my eyes glued to a yearbook I picked up before sitting, while slowly savoring my muffin.
"Shut up for like….. 30mins… Please!"
A chair scuffs against the carpeted floor getting closer to my side, "Okay, I can do that. But I'll need something to do," Becca says, whispering in my left ear.
"Go read a book," I say, chewing the muffin top slowly.
"Aaaaaabout…. What?" Becca says, leaning in closer, "Maybe through another yearbook? Wait have you looked in the newspaper?"
Rolling my eyes, "Why would I need to look through the newspaper… You don't even know what we're looking for."
"WE!!!!" Becca jumps up in her chair, "Yes!"
"Shhhhhhhhhhhh!" Someone behind us hisses.
"Becca, I meant I, not we."
But I did mean 'we' but that refers to me and Jennifer.

"I grabbed a bunch of newspaper surrounding the dates," Becca drops down 20+ newspapers
Rubbing my temple, "Why did you decide to get newspapers when I said loud and clear that we don't need them."
"Come on, Gin I'm trying to help. At least let me try, plus I'm bored,"
"Nope, Nope, Nope" shaking my head, "Don't call me that."
Minutes passed ... with somewhat silence.
"Bob seems like a nice guy," Becca says.
"What?" I harshly whisper.
"Bob in the Oct 1990 newspaper!"
"You mean Robert the janitor? Why does that even matter?"
"Well, you haven't told or talked to me! How am I supposed to help you when you won't let me help. Plus it said he gave a kid CPR, he's a lifesaver," Becca says, flipping the pages
Laying my head on the table "Good for him? And I never asked you for help."
"Well, let me help!"
What are my options? So far I've found nothing, I can't see why not let her help.
Besides, Jennifer isn't helping. Even if she finds out, I don't know if she'll be upset?
Jennifer has always told me, if I tell anybody about my research, no one will believe me and think I'm crazy like mom.
'I don't need anyone, just Jennifer', but that's what Jennifer tells me… I want to have more friends and continue being friends with Jennifer.
Picking my head up, I glance around, "Fine, find out who this belongs to," Pulling out the class ring I found yesterday.
I need help and I'm tired of being alone.
I know, I know, I just met the girl and I was rude yesterday.
Leaning back in the chair, watching Becca examine the ring. Hmmm, we can just be co-workers. I don't have to rush friendship and maybe Jennifer will like her.
"Easy peasy, back in Cali I would watch tons of crime shows," Becca says, puffing out her chest, "Soo I have a few tricks up my sleeve."
I rolled my eyes and continued slow chewing on a bit of my muffin.
I hope I made the right choice.
