Becca was already done paying and filling up the tank when Navaya exited the store holding a plastic bag. She gleefully skipped to the car and handed Becca a canned soda from the bag. The next moment she stood in front of his car seat door, holding out a canned soda to him. Johnny blinked at her in disbelief before hesitantly accepting it. As soon as his hand wrapped around the can, she moved away and plumped back down in the backseat. It took everything in him not to stare back at her
They were back on the road in minutes. The silence in the car wasn't stifling but the peaceful kind, one that let's people get stuck in their heads. Once Navaya was safely dropped off, Becca decided it was the right time to break the long silence.
