The clock on the wall was the only indication of the time. The drapes were pulled shut and after staying in the study for so long the hours sort of blended together and he lost track of it entirely. There were paper documents strewn about the desk he sat in front of. He clenched a few of those papers in one hand and his phone in the other, an almost empty liquor bottle just within reach.
His eyes were still set on the papers in his hand as he lowered his phone to the desk and picked up the liquor, ready to pour himself another glass. When he was done, he set down the bottle and made to pick up the glass next but it was swiftly snatched away from him.
" That's enough!"
Stunned, he blinked at the spot the glass once was then up at Becca who now held the glass in her hand. He hadn't heard her come into his study. His desk faced away from the door but he should have heard her footsteps. He watched her gulp down everything in the glass.
