Johnny sat on the driver's seat, peering through the windshield at Navaya as she tried not to stumble on the heels she wore as she approached. Given that he knew his way around the city, they somehow had an unspoken agreement where Johnny had guilefully appointed himself the designated driver. He saw the task as a mission on its own and Navaya would have made an effort to object had their situation been slightly different.
He waited until she was only a few steps from the car before pushing open the passenger side door.
Navaya shot him a withering look.
" I have hands that work just fine, you know?" She said haughtily.
" Duly noted," Johnny responded with just as much sass as Navaya had projected.
Navaya scrunched her nose in disdain but got into the car anyway. She tried not to run her gaze over Johnny's clothes— the crisp dark suit fit every inch of his body as though tailored for him alone— and failed just as horribly.
