Ernesto remained silent as they embraced, keeping her close. Closer than her body has ever been to his. He smoothed her hair with one hand, the other one holding her to him.
" Angela," He said with a sigh of relief. It was dangerous to be out alone at this hour and Ernesto had been worried. Terrified at the possibility of something horrible happening to her.
He felt her tremble in his arms, not just from the violent emotions that bothered her but also from the cold.
" Let's get you home before you get sick, it's cold out here," Ernesto said, slowly pulling away.
Her hands gripped him tighter.
It was then his gaze fell to the duffel bag at her feet. His heart stilled for a whole second.
" You can't— I can't " Angela stuttered, her voice sounding choked. She could feel her throat closing, her lung caving in on itself. " Please don't leave me alone."
