It was way past nine that morning and they were still in bed. Naked. Leo had his arm wrapped loosely around Becca, her face inches from his neck.
" We probably should go down for breakfast before grandma starts assuming things," Leo said, mostly because he was certain they wouldn't be able to leave the bed that morning if he stayed next to Becca while she remained naked like that.
Becca simply laughed. " You certainly know grandma well."
" Of course, I do. " He pressed a kiss on her forehead. " She raised me."
He had known her before he even knew himself. She was the only one who truly cared for him through the dark times of his life— times when all his thoughts were about ending things. Death. She did her best to bring some light back into his life and Becca helped amplify her efforts. And now, with the love of his life by his side— her heart opened to him once more— Leo didn't want anything more.
He was content. He was happy.
