Bang, bang, bang… bang, bang, bang!
Unknown voice: "Hello! Is anybody home? I have a message from Genmar!"
Nullthara: "Ugghhh."
As light rain drizzles upon the former Petros household, Nullthara groggily wakes up with red irritated eyes combined with disheveled hair.
Nullthara: "Why am I upside-down? Shut up! I'm coming, I'm coming… God's am I thirsty."
As she thumps to the ground Nullthara looks around trying to get her bearings. Standing slowly yawning in the process, the light blinds her eyes, and the banging on the door rings her ears. Then, her sight focuses on a cup filled with the liquid of life. Nearly crushing the cup as it's grabbed, Nullthara tries to quench her unending thirst. After gulping down every last drop she turns her attention to the banging throwing the cup to the side. The door slams against the wall, nearly popping it off the hinges.
"What do you want?! It's too early in the morning for this!"
A gnome wearing a grey hood holding a wrapped package stands before Nullthara.
Gnome: "Hello, you must be Nullthara. I'm sorry to inform you that it is not morning, but a little past noon. Anyways, Genmar is asking for you and Alexander. For what, I do not know."
Nullthara: "Mmhf, can you hurry up I have a massive headache. Is there anything else you have to tell us?"
Gnome: "Not anything important, but I do have a favor to ask. Would you deliver this package to him? Oh, and do be sure not to open it, Genmar won't be happy if you do."
Without even waiting for a response the gnome places the package into Nullthara's hands.
"Have a nice day young lady."
Looking at the package Nullthara sighs, walks over to the kitchen setting it on the table.
Nullthara: "Alexander! Where are you?!"
The backdoor opens with Alexander drenched from rain. Behind him Therra, Falkas, and Torin are seen doing continuous burpees.
Alexander: "Morning Sleeping Beauty, or should I say good afternoon. How are you feeling, want more water?"
Looking over to the thrown cup, Alexander chuckles to himself.
Nullthara: "Of course I do. I've read about the after effects of alcohol, but I'd never expect it to be this bad. Why do people even drink if this is what happens after, I don't get it."
Alexander: "Hahaha, you're suffering because you drank too much. Here, eat your berries, they'll help with the hangover."
Nullthara takes two berries from Alexander, popping them into her mouth
Nullthara: "Thank you…. Ahh, I feel much better."
Alexander: "So, what did you call me in here for?"
Pointing at the package Nullthara explains that Genmar wants to see them, and how the gnome wanted them to finish delivering his package.
Alexander: "Do you wanna go or should I?"
Nullthara: "Since it seems like you were in the middle of exercising I'll be the one to go."
Alexander: "Sounds good. Be safe out there, I'm looking forward to hearing what Genmar wants. See you in a few hours or so."
Alexander leaves to the backyard. The three trainees are now covered in mud, moving slowly, and breathing heavily.
"Alright you maggots, you best not have stopped, or I'll personally tear you limb from limb!! What the hell are you doing?! You look like pigs fucking in a shit filled sty, get your asses up!!"
Nullthara: "Ha, that takes me back."
While Alexander is giving the others the works, Nullthara heads to Mound of Potions. The light rain continues all the way to Genmar's. Nullthara holds the package under her cloak to keep it dry on her way. Coming up to the store, she quickly opens the door, taking down her hood.
"Genmar, I'm here! What is it that you wanted? Didn't you see Alexander yesterday?"
Genmar: "Come to the back."
Reaching the back room, Genmar can be seen milking the fully grown Atra Venena.
"I'm glad you came quickly, I'm starving. Do you have the package?"
Nullthara sets the package on the table, opening it with curiosity. Inside is a still warm thick grilled ribeye steak, a baked potato that has everything including the kitchen sink, and fried okra.
Nullthara: "You got some good tastes, but why the hell am I bringing this to you? And how is it still warm?"
Genmar: "Oh, I had you bring it cause it was convenient. The guy that was supposed to deliver had something else to do, so I told him to give it to you to bring. It's still warm cause of the magic box it's in. That food delivery business is expensive, but worth it."
Nullthara: "You're such an ass. Are you gonna make it up to me somehow?"
Finishing up milking the snake, Genmar puts up the newly filled vial. He then walks over to and opens a safe. Inside are a couple documents, sealed letters, also tied off scrolls. Genmar pulls out one of the scrolls opening for Nullthara to see.
Genmar: "When you and Alexander were still young he asked for any 'work' that I could throw his way. Well I think you lot are ready for a job. This is a contract for a hit on a man named Viscono Alderna, a merchant that gotten on the wrong side of some powerful people. He is a human with red hair, brown eyes, his height is 5'4". Kill him in any way that you want, then put him on display drawn and quartered, as a warning. He lives in the central sector of the city, visits a bar called The Barrel almost daily, the final information given is that he works in the rich part of town, out of his own warehouse at the docks."
Nullthara: "What's the pay Genmar?"
Genmar: "You'll earn a clean 1000 gold for the kill when he is displayed."
Nullthara: "Fuckin-a! That's a lot of coin for one man. You know, we took a bounty for 60 lives only for 2000 gold. Crime really does pay. Huh, who would've guessed?"
Genmar: "Criminals. Criminals would've guessed. But, yes the job is relatively easy with good pay. Remember this, I called in some favors to get y'all this job. When you complete it, I get some new debts from important people and you get paid. You fail, we get killed to keep people silent, so do not fail. You have a time limit of 10 days."
Genmar rerolls the scroll, handing it to Nullthara.
Nullthara: "Don't worry we can handle it. Our new recruits need to be blooded anyways, might as well make it kinda fucked up. We'll swing by with good news in a couple days."
