Wei Ren freed his head from the ceiling and fell on his buttocks. Despite this, he had a wide smile on his face. Over the short course of his entry into the cultivation world, this was the first time he did something truly magical.
The speed with which he launched into the air was unheard of. He was absolutely in love with this new ability.
"I have to try again." He eagerly wanted to awaken the Blood Symbol again. But he learned from his mistake. He went to the Emperor's Courtyard. It was big enough for him to go rampant.
He stood at one corner of the courtyard near the blue roses and calmed himself down. Awakening the Blood Symbol was completely unintended the first time. It was basically a fluke. Chances of doing it again were quite low.
His mind erased every little distraction. Only the rustling of leaves could be heard. He slowed down his breathing to gain a better focus over his chest.
Thirty minutes passed. He stood at the same spot motionless. His long brown hair moved with the air.
"Awaken the ThunderWolf!" He said softly in his heart.
Rumble!
Roars of thunderbolts reverberated in the entire courtyard. When he opened his eyes he realised that he was standing at the other end of the courtyard!
He moved so fast that he didn't even notice his body's movement. This time he was able to experience the transformation as it occurred. He felt tiny thunderbolts slither all over his chest's skin. Since he was standing, most of the thunderbolts moved to his legs from the ThunderWolf Blood Symbol.
He memorized the feeling he felt during the transformation and tried to invoke the same feeling.
It was like pulling thunderbolts from his chest and sending them to his legs.
He looked at the trail he left behind. The distance he travelled was charred black. A long black line was left on the ground of the courtyard.
He looked at the black trail with amazement.
But he wasn't fazed by this and started again.
"Focus. Blood Symbol, AWAKEN!" He shouted in his head.
Rumble!
He opened his eyes, the moment thunderbolts appeared on his chest. He guided the tiny snake like thunderbolts to his feet. But when the thunderbolts reached his lower torso, they got out of control. A big portion of the thunderbolts travelled back and headed into his right arm.
His right arm flung itself into the air. His whole body was pulled along with his arm. He crashed into the brick wall of the courtyard. Cracks appeared on the whole wall.
He could feel his head spin like a top. He had to use his Elemental Qi to heal his injured head and arm.
A fear was born in his heart.
"This Divine Art is too dangerous. My head could have been crushed into a pulp." He shivered with the thought.
"I can't die while training. I need a bigger place to train." He thought in his head.
He said and got up on his feet. After pacing relentlessly for a few minutes he came up with an idea
He had a month before the Mission Assignment Competition started. Plus there was a five day journey to the border if he used a horse.
But He decided to walk to his destination.
From the Capital city of the Blue Rose Kingdom to the Golden Crow Kingdom's border. There was a long road. It was desolate and empty. There were some small villages and tribes along the way but nothing else.
This would be the best way to train. He could train in Thunder Walk Divine Art and travel at the same time. The time limit would also serve as an additional source of motivation for him.
He packed up his things and immediately left the Capital city.
The long desolate road that he travelled several months ago to reach the capital and got ambushed on, was before him. The last time he travelled on this road he was still a mortal. There was nothing special about him. But this time he had several secrets and a decent cultivation base. He also learned alchemy.
The best thing that probably happened to him was the Starmist Law. It allowed him to cultivate. This was enough to make him ecstatic. But now he wanted even more. He wanted to become as powerful as his father and mother. His encounter with Sect Master Lu Bing reminded him that there was always someone mightier than the mighty. The aura he felt from him and the sheer level of majestic pressure increased his lust for power.
He walked for an hour and made sure that he was a few kilometres away from the capital.
When he was completely alone, he started to train in the Thunder Walk Divine Art.
He stood silently on the desolate road. Awakening the Blood Symbol took some time. Every time the thunderbolts start appearing, he has very little time to maneuver them to his legs.
Two days passed.
The thunderbolts appeared only seven times in these two days. Awakening the Blood Symbol was becoming more and more difficult for some reason. He was hoping for an epiphany. Training in Divine Arts depends a lot on personal insights and experience. He began training just two days ago. So naturally it was no surprise that he would get stumped.
He did learn one important thing. The thunderbolts appeared only in some parts of his chest. They always appeared randomly. It said in the Thunder Walk Divine Art that a person with complete mastery can cover their whole body's skin with thunderbolts. This means that at earlier stages he can cover only some parts of his skin.
At the ThunderWolf stage he should focus on his feet and legs only. At the ThunderBird stage he would be able to cover more skin.
This clue helped him a lot. Every time he succeeded in awakening the Blood Symbol, he maneuvered the thunderbolts into the soles of his feet. This resulted in a better control over his movements. After all what is the point of great agility if he can't control where he is going. It would be like shooting arrows blindfolded.
He travelled very little distance in these two days. The short burst of speed lasted for only a few seconds. but each time he experienced these burst, he travelled several hundred metres in seconds. He didn't get depressed. There was still a lot of time left.
After some more tries he decided to train while walking. He focused on his chest and walked at the same time.
While he was walking, he accidentally awakened the Blood Symbol when he was slightly less focused. The amount of thunderbolts produced by the blood symbol far exceeded the previous times. His entire torso was covered with thunderbolts.
In a state of panic he was able to maneuver only half of them into his feet. Rest were blasted randomly into his body. A big portion of the thunderbolts moved into his arms.
Rumble! A loud roar of thunder sounded. He was sure that this loud roar must have travelled all the way to the Capital City that he just left behind two days ago.
He wasn't able to control his direction. His body sped up on its own. He went off the desolate road and entered the thick forest on the sides of the road.
He travelled an entire day's worth of distance in a few seconds albeit in the wrong direction.
