Blood splashes against the iron bars as another bandit collapses nearby, his arm flung to the opposite side of the room as a bristled man covered in muscle drops stands before the corpse and snorts. A short , stocky man darts past the body, his fingers deftly darting out as keys and a coin purse rest in his palm.
"This guy is always locked up! So I think the dungeon will want him cus he's important! So Mister, what's your name and what are you?" The girl asks happily as she leans back and forth on her heels, a horned rabbit standing beside her, its fur raised in caution as he glances around nervously.
"Hrm....Wereboar, Dwarf, I can smell healing magic so a priest type. But you my dear reek of dungeon magic, your a chosen, a champion. If your dungeon is asking for our rescues from these monsters I shall be happy to lend my strength. You may inspect me." Grumbles the large grey creature in the cage, the bars several feet thick and made of a strange black metal.
"Kay but remember you said I could! Oh I'm Sarah! That's Chunsly our Wereboar, he gets angry and hungry so be careful. Oh and the short kids Elrick, he keeps saying he's a dwarf but he's kinda tiny for one. I still think he's part gnome, oh and Jenny is waiting outside to heal!" Babbles Sarah as she uses the dungeons inspection skill on the creature.
{Name-Tobias The Stoneshell Guardian Species- Stoneshell Gargoyle Status- Crippled, Silenced, Wounded, landbound, Mana Starved, Brittle Description- Stoneshell Gargoyles are a common species that can be found the world over. Most of these creatures are extremly hard to locate due to their ability to cloak themselves from all scrying and magic as long as they remain still, leading many of them to take on the guise of statues and decorations. After centuries of being hunted and playing pretend, these grand creatures evolved into formidable defensive creatures that migrate to area's of extreme evil or undeath. Tobias ventured to these cursed lands in the hope of training himself into a powerful guardian but sadly was brutally beaten and crippled days into his journey during a days long battle against a savage undead. Found at deaths door the slavers and bandits wasted no time in capturing and enslaving this noble creature and imprisoning it in the hopes of one day breaking its will.}
"Tobias? I like that name! Makes you sound like a fancy knight or something. Anyway Tobias the dungeon found out that these guys are kinda bad guys so he's trying to teach them a lesson. We have to free a bunch of important slaves and rescue people but there's a lot more of them than us. Your the first cus they only had like three people guarding you, guess they figured your a statue so you wouldn't try to run! Hah! So we're gonna heal you up and then we're gonna go save a weird tree creature and a few other plant people that are with him. Wanna help us?" Sarah babbles happily as a party invite appears in front of Tobias, his eyebrow rising as he smiles menacingly before accepting the invite.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'So Sarah has gotten a little.....bloodthirsty? Should we be worried?' I ask as Tilly laughs at a fat bandit with an axe is flung into a wall spike, his belly bursting like a balloon as Tobias laughs happily and bows to Sarah as she claps her hands.
"Well if she were still a regular person then yeah, definitely. I'd be recommending a mind doctor of the highest caliber for her. But as your representative not really. Her mind is adapted to doing what best for you and since your quest was to basically teach these fools a lesson...well....its some brutal teaching." Emi explains as Tilly nods her head hyperactively, a squeal of joy leaving her mouth as the group rip open a metal crate and pull out a glass jar with a strange green liquid inside. Trailing behind the party is a several meters tall walking tree, the face of a wizened man pushing from the bark as well as several strange plant creatures with the heads of mushrooms or flowers.
"They found slimes!!! Oh they're gonna be so much fun to use Kyle! You can hide them in traps above doors or in the pitfalls and when someone falls into them they'll start melting the person! If we're lucky we might get one to evolve into a king or something!" Tilly says excitedly as the gargoyle gently hands the glass container to Jenny for safekeeping before glancing at a pile of rocks in the corner.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Mistress Sarah, can you or Mistress Jenny use elemental earth magic by chance? If so focus it on that pile of stonework in the corner. If I'm correct that pile happens to be a mana starved worker golem and by reviving it with mana you can take ownership of it. They're fairly worthless in combat but make excellent shields and workers, your dungeon friend may find a use for it." Tobias says gently as both girls nods and cast magic towards the pile. After several seconds the stones begin to shake and move around before combining into a strange creature resembling a mole, its size much larger as it stands eye level with Elrick.
"Huh, its an excavator model. Just mentally order it in the back with the flower folk for now. If I remember right there should be either an ogre or a dreg somewhere unless they killed them. Everyone focus on your noses, if you smell something sour and coppery that's the ogre, if you smell something sweet and relaxing its the dreg." Tobias says as everyone nods and follows him out the door. As they step outside everyone smiles while watching a small bone raptor land on top of an archer, her screams piercing the night air as the bone covered reptile rips at her stomach while slowly using his talons to sink into her legs.
"So Sarah....Your sure the dungeon can help us not get killed for this right?" Asks Elrick for the fourth time that night as he watches the raptor begin tearing bones from the woman's corpse and eating them, a sense of both accomplishment and dread forming in his belly.
