Chereads / Awakened As A Dungeon Core? / Chapter 37 - Getting the goods

Chapter 37 - Getting the goods

'I'm ordering the dungeon mobs to leave that Iron woman alone so she can carry Sarah back here. I feel like if she pushed herself this hard bringing her back and with the effort she put in we can trust her near me. That Flippy fellow is also keeping up with them and I've seen him stash some stuff in his inventory which is new, so keep an eye on him. Tyr and Slax should be a bit behind Sarah and that abyss demon and the lanyo are slowly moving towards us so be ready.' I say to Tilly as she nods and Spooky's head raises from his room in acknowledgement of the warning. Shank stands in the same place as always, a blank look on his face as he waits for prey.

Tilly begins practicing her cold face and voice much to my amusement as Iron finally throws Sarah forward into the dungeons entrance before diving through as well, treating the dungeon like its the only place that's safe to escape to. Following behind the panicked woman and dazed child walks in Flippy, a calm look on its face as its tense body finally relaxes before it walks to Sarah and picks her up before making its way to the core room with a reluctant Iron following behind them. As they make their way past the unmoving form of Shank I open the hidden passage to my core room for the trio to enter before resealing it.

"What is this place? And are those undead digging a passage down there? In thought a dungeon made its own rooms huh." Iron whispers before she enters the room and gasps while staring at my glowing core that hovers in the middle of the room with Tilly sitting atop it, looking down at the human woman with an cold and impassive face.

"Before you have any funny idea's human just remember we have an entire dungeon to throw at you and your two floors under the earth, escape isn't likely." Tilly says coldly as Irons body shivers faintly before she nods and checks on Sarah before sighing and taking a seat against the wall.

'Sorry bout Tilly Miss Iron. She thinks we have a certain way of doing things as a dungeon but I'm a little more relaxed. Now I believe Tyr gave you the creatures you all captured, could I trouble you to take the cages out and let me see them?' I ask as the woman looks around in confusion before nodding and pulling out the first cage that holds the three wraiths before a prompt comes up.

{New Mob Creation Method Discovered! Creation Type-Enslavement! Description- This Creation method is less about creation and more about procurement. Using this new method as long as the creature is of non pacted or dungeon creation, not a summoned creature, and not of a species acknowledged by the worlds laws as a civilized race the creatures can automatically be branded with dungeon loyalty tattoo's that maintain their loyalty to the dungeon and its inhabitants. These creatures maintain their intelligence and experience but benefit from the other effects of pacting with a dungeon except they cannot leave the dungeon and are not allowed to evolve freely without the dungeons permission. To obtain these enslaved beings they must be captured using dungeon made enslavement chains or put into a dungeon made slave cage. The dungeon has a max capacity of 100 enslaved mobs and 3 enslaved bosses at its current strength.}

'Sweet! That means we don't need to kill these things! Oh there's even a little option since they already came in the cages. Hey Iron I have to steal your cage and the chains around one of the wraiths sorry!' I say excitedly as the cage with the wraiths quickly sinks into the floor along with the chains holding the green wraith. After they're freed a small tattoo appears on the side of their necks that looks like a small fairy hovering over a gemstone. As the green wraith kneels in front of me the chains fall from the two blue ones and they follow the firsts lead before I check what they are and a prompt appears. {Number of enslaved creatures 3/100 mobs 0/3 bosses}

{Species- Lesser Wraith Description- The physical manifestation of a deceased souled being. This lesser version is of a creature who did not have a great amount for power when living and as a wraith they are cursed to repeat their last moments with no way of escaping until they are put to rest.}

{Species-Greater Wraith Description- The physical manifestation of a deceased souled being. This greater species are the remnants of the souls of powerful or skilled creatures that died in ways that left their souls confused or angered. Most Greater Wraiths maintain the skills and abilities they had in life as well as the abilities of common ghosts or specters as well as maintaining their personalities and memories. These creatures are usually stuck in a loop of their last actions until they are made to serve higher beings, attacked, or the energy that maintains them are put to rest.}

"Madame may I ask for the next shipment?' I say in my goofiest fancy man voice as Iron finally smirks a little shakily before she pulls out three new cages and throws the creatures chained inside of them out. Soon I have a small group of varied scritchers in front of me kneeling like the wraith's as I check them out as well.{ number of enslaved creatures 12/100 mobs 0/3 bosses}

{Species-Scritcher Description- Believed to be cursed elves these creatures are quick breeding, fragile, and cowardly pack creatures. They have a basic form of intelligence that grows to higher levels as they evolve. They are capable of quick and precise movements and extreme bursts of speed but most warriors are more than capable of claiming a scritcher trophy as long as they are separated from their packs..}

{Species-Scritcher Phantom Description-The meager soul of a scritcher, ripped from its still cooling corpse and forced into the service of a stronger being. These creatures have lost any minor intelligence they had and are now made to be servants to whoever pulled them from the cycle of death.}

{Species- Scritcher Warrior Description- A common evolution of a common scritcher, these larger versions feature stronger musculature, quicker reflexes, and a higher intelligence as well as the ability to both craft and wield basic weapons and armor. Warriors will usually command a small pack of basic scritchers when foraging for food and materials and are capable of creating basic strategies in battle.}

{Species- Scritcher Battle Caster Description- A rare evolution of a basic scritcher where they firmly grasp the destructive potential of magic and begin wielding it. These creatures are frail and barely able to physically invest themselves in combat but show themselves to be extremly dangerous when protected in the back lines. These creatures specialize in damage dealing magic as well as spells that can buff their enemies. Some mages are known to hunt and enslave these creatures due to their extreme intelligence compared to their kin, using them as researchers in the best cases or abused assistants in the worst.}

As I order the new mobs to make their way to the living area's for now I can't help but become excited at the thought of the last creature in Iron's possession.

'Now bring out the piece de résistance!' I say excitedly as the battered form of the scritcher boss is thrown before my core, its eyes staring at me with malice and fear.
