Chapter 87 - Marching Orders

"Tommy I need you to send Poppa out for scouting. Gung your on lookout with Dawn for any wild monsters. With a group this large and boss heavy we shouldn't attract trouble but who knows. Sarah, your an avatar and we were told to make certain you were kept as safe as possible so the middle of the group. Everyone else form up and lets move out!" Shouts Dusk as she double checks her heavy plate armor and begins the march as she glances back at the forms of the following boss creatures from the dungeon.

Sighing in frustration the woman lets out a gasp as the single human from the dungeon bosses soundlessly walks beside her with a smile on her face. Watching the woman, Dusk notices the coiled muscles and scars across her body that reminds her of a predator always on guard. A strange purple spear rests on her back as her hand is continually holding the handle in an easy going way but allowing her to swing and equip at a moments notice. Dusk jumps once again as the woman speaks, her voice gentle and calm even with the bloodlust swimming behind her eyes.

"You should send Spooky and Slax to scout as well. Spooky is now a lycan which means he's deathly intelligent and his senses are maxed out. Slax has mobility due to Banshee and with his magic he can summon totems and spiritual familiars to explore ahead. We're not to help you unless needed inside the dungeon but until we get there you'll be protected. Your a new face so I'll introduce myself. Tyr Vore, Lead Berserker, Rank D Boss, Blood Bather Matriarch. I'll be Guarding your flanks so be on guard, this enemy dungeon is viscous and we must succeed." Tyr explains as Dusk nods her head and sends a message back for the bosses to head out.

Watching Spooky and Slax head into the wilds sends a thrill down Tyr's back as she looks into the distance and notices the appearance of several shuffling undead as well as a wraith and some form of giant centipede. Smiling the woman grabs the lance from her back and charges forward with a roar, several accompanying cries following behind her as the bosses from the dungeon follow her lead into the throng of new challengers, leaving the stunned adventurers behind. With a jumping slash downwards Tyr's lance embeds itself in the skull of an undead orc, the creatures body grey with age and rot as two hand axes fall from its fingers and it crumples into a pile of rotted flesh and bones.

"Despot get ready to use the thing. Remember Boss squad, survivors are welcome but not required!" Shouts Tyr behind her shoulder as she twirls her lance and sends the upper body of a goblin flying through the air as the butt of the lance pierces through the eye and skull of gnome, each zombified creature gurgling and moaning before the gnome turns to rot and the goblin begins dragging itself forward. Watching the fight Dusk and the rest of the adventurers are stunned at the viciousness of the dungeon bosses as Lafey Screeches at the wraith, its body wobbling be shattering apart into a glowing pile of dust. Tobias patiently walks into the throng of centipedes and smiles as the agile creatures attempt to pierce his stony hide, each bouncing back from his form with warbles of pain.

A giggling can be heard from within the remaining undead before the shadowy form of Shanks appears behind a potbellied Ukrin, its heavyset frame sporting a multitude of scavengers as its fat rots from its thick boned frame. Raising one dagger above his head Shanks lowers his head in prayer before cleaving the dagger into the Ukrin's skull, its body spasming twice as black blood begins filling the remaining white of its eyes before it falls to the ground.

"A worthy sacrifice for the dungeon lord! May he take my tribute and give me power beyond comprehension to smite his enemies!!!" Screeches Shanks as he laughs maniacally, the body sinking into a puddle of inky darkness as he begins fading back into the nearby shadows to strike again.

Before another strike can be made the Despot lets out a rumbling moan before several ghostly cages appear around the surviving enemies, each cage accompanied by a spectral scritcher big enough to carry each loaded cage on its back.

"Good work Despot, your leveling and choice of skills is perfect for this mission. Send those captures to Kyle and focus on recovering in the back. Any wild scritchers we come across fall into your job to take control of as fodder. Once your cooldown resets give us a heads up and we can take more prisoners. We have an estimated four days on foot to get to this dungeons area without sleep or enemies so expect seven to nine." Tyr shouts in a controlled voice as the adventurers look on in shock as the two remaining zombies and four of the wounded centipede creatures attempt to damage or escape the spectral prisons as the spirit scritchers each load up their cage and begin moving towards the dungeon.

"Um...excuse me Miss Vore...but what exactly just happened?" Asks Dusk numbly as she watches the creatures get carted off and the bosses reconjoin into the group.

"Just Tyr. Easy we were told to kill this dungeon that started a war. We were also told that Kyle needs new mobs to fill his new floor as well as remake the third. Despot took a skill upon his grade increasing called {Forced Servitude} that allows him to capture enemies that are weakened and bring them to his leader for whatever reasons or if he was still wild he could forcefully recruit those creatures to his army. Has a long reset though so we have to be choosy. The zombies weren't versions Kyle has and those bugs were new so off they go." Tyr explains as the group keeps marching towards a broken down road, the signpost long rotted and ineligible as they begin the journey with blood shed and battle.
