Chapter 65 - Guzzle's Grand Gulp

"Dungeon small. Clean though. Bottom floor is empty. Perfect place for home. Small dungeon means small chest, Wooden, small locks. Hope there are elves, elves are delicious." Mutters the strange insectoid gemstone covered in eyes as it wanders the newly opened third floor, glancing into rooms occasionally until finally finding a small corner deep in the floor.

"Perfect! Need food, intelligence limited. Adapt, evolve, overcome, eliminate. I am ready." Mumbles the mimic quietly as its body glows brightly before fading, the true form gone and replaced with a dilapidated chest. The chests wood seems rotten in various places and aged with circles of rust around the hinges and keyhole.

"Alright scrubs. New floor means new and better loot. We have no clue what's down here so stay close, be wary, and don't get greedy damnit." Shouts a towering figure covered in plate mail and bones, a long main of greasy hair coming down his neck from under the the tri horned helmet.

Behind the tall man hovers a small green skinned man covered in leather and chainmail, his pointed ears sticking out from his headwrap as he gently caresses the daggers at his hips. An average woman stands beside him, her robes a dull grey as her staff glows with dark power, the skull of a castyr molded to the top, its eyes glowing blue as magical energy seeps from the strange weapon. trailing the party is a small lizard like humanoid, its scales a dull pink as they carry a dented hammer in one hand and a shield with the picture of a lily on the other arm. Thin chains dangle from her brow and are threaded through her lips and gums sealing her mouth shut.

"That's fine and all boss but what kind of bosses can we expect? We already lost our ranger and backup tank to the last boss and that damn snail, can we actually handle this floors bullshit?" Asks the woman as she glances down the hallway in boredom before leaning against the wall and waiting.

"I thinks we should explore! Lots of shinies to be had, we kill small baddies and avoid big bad. Still much to take and not be lost!" Spouts the small rogue as he nods excitedly, his eyes shining with greed.

"Scamp's got a good point. We stay wary and explore. Take out any mobs that are alone or easily managed and pick up what loot we can. Easy pickings and we avoid the boss then leave and sell our info back in town for some easy scratch. Just make sure that damn scale slave keeps healing, I don't care if the mana drain kills her as long as we get out alive." Says the plated man cruelly as he glances at the lizardkin with the silenced mouth.

{Name-??? Species-Lizardkin Lightcaster Status-Enslaved, Mental Exhaustion, Physically Feeble, Silenced. Description- Lizardkin are one of the newest species admitted to the civilized races ranks but not all accept the scaled humanoid creatures as equals. Many of their kin are enslaved and tortured yearly due to their ability to easily learn elemental magic and various immunities due to their physiology. Lightcasters are an extremly rare variant that are born slightly weaker than their peers but are gifted with the ability to quickly learn skills just by viewing them.}

'Tilly I don't think I like that party. Look at that poor lizard lady.' I say as we watch the party wander through the newest floor. Already the group have dispatched several scritchers that wandered alone and dispelled one of the wraiths left to roam the halls of the dilapidated ruin I created.

"They're a cruel group for sure. An ogre kin Brutalis Knight, a marsh goblin thief and a human death mage well on her way to becoming a necro. None of them are exactly loving or to be respected plus their dead friends were just as bad. A damn gnoll archer plus some kind of weird beast person. But lets just watch, they're going down the hallway Guzzle chose as a home, maybe we'll be able to snatch up that woman." Tilly says excitedly as I send Guzzle a quick message to get ready.

The chest stands quietly in the corner of the room, several broken or shattered barrels and crates rest throughout and around it, cobwebs coating everything as if time has claimed all within. A lone creature lays in a ball, small snores coming from its rubbery body as its tail flicks back and forth behind it.

'Not food. Not dungeon monster. Not flesh. Mushroom, yes. Minion type, remember boss. Fraz is name. Master said food comes. Poor mushroom. Maybe help.' Guzzle thinks as she watches the Panther Cap nap lazily in the rooms center, its ears twitching slightly as the sounds of voices reach the room.

Watching the entryway intently, Guzzle flinches slightly as a small green man appears behind the panther cap, blades already piercing the small creatures back as it lets out a warbling yowl before a cloud of black spores explodes from its body. As the small cat mushroom runs away the rest of the party arrives and watches as the small green man twitches on the ground, foam and blood oozing from his mouth and eyes as his face and throat swell to twice their usual size.

"Poison, strong one by the looks of it. Not something a normal antidote would cure. Good thing it was him, greedy pest would have tried to dig into our profits. Lets toss the room and head out while we still have a decent spli-" States the woman before her voice cuts off with a wet squelch, the axeblade of the plate wearing man protruding from her skull as her body hits the floor.

"Stupid dead head, didn't even realize there was a treasure chest in the corner. Don't worry scales, I'll kill you quick too and just tell the renter that you got eaten by the Rustlord." says the large man as he approaches the chest in the corner and slowly tugs the lid, hearing a low click as the chest opens.

"What the.....its empty...." Mutters the man before sharpened spikes smash through the lip of the lid, a long tongue breaking through the bottom of the chest as it wraps around his arm and begins dragging him into the depths of the chest before he feels the piercing pain of the teeth sliding through his armor and halving his body.

"Delicious. Good food bring...brings me...great joy and clears my mind. Ahh yes the fog is lifting! This is so much better! A few more dolts like this and I'll be up to a normal intelligence!" Guzzle says happily as Slax walks slowly into the room and touches the lizardkin's shoulder.

"Myra my friend...what did the monsters do to you...." Slax whispers as he pulls the woman into an embrace, the sound of crunching bone and tearing metal the only sounds coming from the newly minted third floor.
