Chapter 61 - Psychedelic

"So my man just to let ya know ahead of time, I don't like to fight really. Brings down my vibe ya dig? But I understand the whole dungeon eat or die deal so I'll help defend in other ways. That cool boss man? Wait are you a man core? Or maybe a lady? Or one of those non binary rainbows formed from waterfall mist? No judgements brotha! You do you and be happy doin' it, I don't judge!" The mushroom man says in a voice that brings me back to teenagerdom and smoking strange things with stranger people.

'How about instead you tell me your abilities man? And no boss man stuff Fraz, this dungeon is like a family. We fight together, live together, and ultimately will die together unless we become the strongest. Also my names Kyle, and this is my familiar Tilly. Emi is the demon over there and next to her is Slax, her summoner. You'll meet our other bosses and creatures over time.' I explain as the mushroom mans body relaxes and takes on a slumped position and a dreamy smile appears on his face.

"Sweetness dude! I can dig the family vibe, most dungeons just want me to blast the poor meaties that wander into them. Your my eighth dungeon so its all good. I have a load of abilities but one that everyone seems to like is this!" Fraz says excitedly as he touches one of the orbs on his waist then holds out his hand, a small red piece of fuzz stuck to the center.

As we watch the fuzz, Fraz chants happily under his breath before a green and black light begins shining from the fuzz and it expands. First it doubles in size, then quadruples, finally stopping at the size of a milk gallon, its fuzz no longer furry but turned to a rubbery consistency as a small set of glowing green eyes open and it unballs itself.

{Species Spore Servant(Panther Cap) Description-Spore Servants are the creations of fungal boss creatures of moderate to extreme strength. Many of these bosses can produce a variety of Spore Servants, each based off of a type of poisonous, venomous, or other debilitating piece of foliage or creature they've come across and absorbed. These creatures are able to slowly gain sentience and when they become fully sentient they are added to the bosses circle of growth. Panther Cap servants take on a more feline appearance and are ambush predators. Upon attacking their claws and teeth contain a psychoactive agent that can cause hallucinations, cardiac arrest, disorientation, and for smaller creatures death.}

The creatures skin is springy and now black with slight red spots, its head vaguely resembling a housecats but without the whiskers. It glances around once and stretches before sauntering away while Fraz watches it proudly, his arms crossed in an almost smug way.

"They always start out small and it takes me a few days to create another one. But as they survive and gain experience their bodies grow and evolve into more dangerous or useful forms. I have Panther Caps, Hammer Spores, Chicken Waddlers, and Porkcini's. As I get a refresh I'll spawn one of each so you can see their capabilities but they all make excellent additions and pets. I also use these spores on my body to cause tons of effects. I'm not to big on having to use them but if I place them in your rooms they'll grow into pretty hilarious traps. Ever seen a minotaur licking the wall cus it tastes like green? Nothing better man. Finally my last real notable ability is I can produce a type of mushroom farm in a designated place. Adventurers love them as loot cus apparently if you eat them they take you to some magical world only you can get to. Never been myself but sounds rad man. So are we cool?" Fraz says as wanders around the core room looking at all the different creatures on the screens.

'We're definitely cool man. We have a few empty rooms being opened so once your set you can make a farm and behind me is an area that you can build your own home. I'll call on ya in a few days to ask some more questions but right now it seems I have a level up to read through and some new abilities to pick.' I say excitedly as Fraz nods happily before moving towards the living area at a languid pace.

"Are you sure you want to keep him Kyle? I mean he seems pleasant enough but we don't really need a pacifist boss of his strength. We could get someone with actual combat potential that's willing to use it." Tilly asks worriedly while wringing her hands before I let out a chuckle.

'But he's a gold mine hun. He can create creatures for us and although he has only four right now he admitted he can learn more with access to new sources. And we're in a giant zone of undead nasties! Tons of options for him in a place like this. Also he said he doesn't like combat not that he wouldn't take part. I think he's just the type to value life more than the rest of us. He'll defend himself and those he views as needing it but he won't just blow someone to bits for the hell of it. That's the kind of balance we need if we're going to make it far in this dungeon business I think. Plus he reminds me of someone from before I woke up here. Can't put my finger on it but he gives me a good feeling.' I say confidently as Tilly nods her head in acceptance before we both read the prompt that came up after Sages death.
