Chapter 49 - An emergency meeting

Meanwhile, the diligent master Zhang Long Wei was making preparations as to how to train his very first disciple tomorrow. The demon knew he shouldn't be getting this anxious over something as minor as this. But he just couldn't help it.

Putting down the deathly ice blade, Zhang Long wei sat down next to a wooden table. His headaches were not completely gone yet. But it got a lot better compared to last night. Zhang Long Wei should have been going to bed early tonight considering the fact that he didn't manage to take a single short nap last night.

Even so, the demon just couldn't bring himself to close his eyes and take a good sleep. One might wonder how come a lord like him was trying this hard to make a good impression on this youth. Well...don't ask.....because Zhang Long Wei himself didn't even know the answer to this question.

It was already mentioned that his impression of the youth was extremely complicated. The demon lord neither held a grudge against him for killing him nor felt grateful for accompanying him by then. He just didn't know how to think of him from the beginning. And that confused feeling got worse when he found out that youth was no other than a particular pretty cheater from last night.

The demon just found it hard to believe how fate played a trick on the two of them. About the pretty male, Zhang Long Wei also had that very same kind of complicated feelings. He wasn't disgusted by the fact that young miss he kissed last night was no other than a mischievous male. But it didn't mean he felt guilty for naughty things he did to the male at first.

How would you feel when you figured out two people who had him getting such kind of confused feelings were the same person? Wouldn't it make things even more complicated?

Sighing, Zhang Long Wei massaged his temple in fatigue.

Whatever...he'd better turn in right now. Tomorrow was going to be challenging. And he needed to gathered enough energy to handle that unruly disciple.

Wang Li Jie...that youth's name is Li Jie, right?...

His lips quirked upwards as the demon gazed into the murky sky.

Li Jie ..... just wait and see how I'm gonna handle you tomorrow.....

------------

Rays of first light were yet to invade the peak of snowy light. But all the physicians and masters of Jianyu Sect were already up, heading for the sect's meeting hall in a fluster. Today, something unexpected had come up. Significant figures from the imperial city had arrived unceremoniously to their mountain of emerald jade even before the dawn had come.

Perplexed physicians and elders didn't know details as to why they were made to come to the meeting hall early this dawn. All they knew was that it had something to do with soul consuming curse. Maybe those guests had managed to collect some useful information related to the curse and wanted to share it with them.

What hard-working people...Because of lantern festival and not to give inhabitant villagers unnecessary worries, their sect had paused all the actions of investigating and digging further into this certain matter for a while.

After all, it had almost been a month since they found no more cursed patients or preys in the villages. Of course, that didn't mean they were going to sweep this matter under the rug or something. Since inhabitants had been overly anxious about the curse lately, elders just decided to shove this off for a certain amount of time.

But the capital was different. The number of cursed victims kept increasing day after day in there that it almost resembled a plague. If they didn't handle this matter as soon as possible, then things could get out of their hands in next to no time. All sects in the capital and imperial family had been focusing on solving this matter recently, so it was not something strange if they found out some practical information about the curse.

Morning classes had been postponed. And none of the disciples knew what sort of urgent matter came up to bring forth this kind situation. This was exactly the very situation Wang Li Jie had woken up to this morning.

His original plan to check in on his mom and perform a pathetic play was now replaced with figuring out what'd been happening for all of the elders and physicians to make an emergency meeting this early at the hall.

The youth was about to knock on the door to snow white chamber when it was swung open suddenly. And there was his little sister, Wang Li Mei, who was looking at him with that blank expression before widening her eyes and greeting him excitedly.

"Ahh.....gege! How come you came here as well? Hahaha...that's good. Mom, gege's here."

When did this girl came here? Wasn't she a medical cultivator? She should have been going to the hall with other elders as well as of now, right?

"Why are you still here? Aren't you supposed to be at the meeting hall, are you?"

Stepping inside, the youth asked which had his little sister giggling. Shaking her head and trying to put on a straight face, the girl replied at the sight of her bewildered gege.

"Of course not, gege. If all the medical cultivator disciples were to go to the meeting , then how could the hall even hold all of us?"

Wang Li Jie was sure that he clearly saw a crew of physicians hurrying for the hall with disciples following behind on his way here. Nonetheless, after giving it a second thought, he calculated maybe it was because elders wanted those disciples just to run errands if needed. How could their meeting would be effective if there were hundreds of people to argue and discuss with?

His mom was sitting next to the table seemingly engrossed in an old book as her eyes fixed on its pages. Only after hearing her daughter's words, the mistress took her eyes off the book. Looking up at her adonis son who was standing at the entrance, she said with a warm smile.

"Li Jie...why are you still standing there? Come on in ...oh, that's right and .....congratulation on getting a new master, my son...hahaha..."

Wang Li Jie paused in his tracks as he forced a reluctant smile at his mother's words. But in his heart, this poor soul had been shedding tears of blood.

Dad, you're damn so fast!

How come you've made your move this quick already....
