The next morning did not begin as good as Grace hoped it would be.
Since she had a caretaker for her grandmother that lived with them 24/7, she had assumed that now most of the responsibility would be taken by Julie, and she would be left with the fun part.
However, that was not the case. Not at all.
At six in the morning, she was standing by the bed of her grandmother, staring down at the woman with the eyes of a mother, who had just caught her child in the act.
"I am not eating this!"
"Please," Julie urged, "I just have two little ones left. You can swallow them together and you won't even know."
"I will know. I know what goes down my throat. Always did and always will!" Lorelai announced it loudly, knowing the intent behind her words was nothing but double meaning.
Grace rolled her eyes at that. "Nonna, the medicine is needed for your heart function. This one is a blood thinner, do you want your rotor to stop pumping blood?"
