It was quite a lot of traffic that they encountered before they reached her place. In fact, she could almost see her place while being in the traffic and that gave her a new sense of longing for her bed.
By the time the car finally stopped in front of her house, Grace felt the drain of the day on her, even though she had not done anything significant.
She opened the door and stepped out, more like slid out of the seat, and onto the pavement before closing the door.
'Shit', she remembered at that moment that she had not been in a taxi. She had come with Christian and she had to thank him for the ride.
Grace turned around slowly only to jump when she found him directly behind her. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing?" He raised an eyebrow.
Still tired, she bought the answer without any further questions. She was eager to get up, take a shower and go to bed. "Okay, thank you for the ride. Good night."
"Sure thing." He nodded.
