"Grace." Something shook her awake and it took the second call for her to wake up. "Grace, get up."
The blanket was heaven, and she was reluctant to leave it, but she opened her eyes and tried to step into the real world by blinking away the grogginess.
It took her a few blanks to open her eyes and look at the sound of the voice. Christian was standing beside her bed, slightly leaning over her body. "Hey." He let out the small, painful smile. "Awake yet?"
She got up and sat on the bed. " yes, I am awake. What's going on?"
Her eyes went to the clock and it was one in the morning. Why was Christian still dressâ€" had he just arrived? There was a sinking feeling in her stomach, something that told her that the news or whatever he was about to deliver was not going to be nice.
"What is it, Christian?" She whispered again, desperately and in a hurry to know what it was.
