Almost everything went well until lunch. Matthew was a good shadow to Penelope and had learned quite a lot on the first day. Penelope had left him alone for an hour, and he never messed up.
He had grown quite confident that grace was grateful about. She felt the constant need to tiptoe around him just so she would not make her more nervous, which made her wonder if that was the reason why Jonathan had not indulged in her nervousness. Also, she could not imagine him having to tiptoe around anyone.
By lunch, she was ready for Penelope to give her to go upstairs, but instead, she was brought to take out from one of her preferred restaurants.
"What's this?" She asked, looking at the takeout box Penelope had kept for her. "Am I not going upstairs to eat lunch with Christian? Is he busy?
"Oh, um," Penny hesitated a little, "Mr Miller did not come in today."
Grace frowned. "He did not? Why, was William told the reason?"
