Chapter 2 - Graduation Party - II

She had walked into that one. It appeared that Christian had known that she would agree to it because he had prepared everything for her . To butter her up he had taken her to her favorite restaurant and after that he had everything ready for her, from the dress to the hairdresser.

"I could have straightened my own hair." She grumbled as she patted her silky and straight hair. Even though they looked gorgeous, she knew that the hairdresser would never take the precautions that Grace did for them.

"Relax," she heard Christian yell from the bathroom, "It's dad's money. He said that if I could pursue you into coming with me to the party, I could have the night to my wishes."

"Well, your father is not as intelligent as he thinks," She muttered, her breath knowing that there was no way Christian could ever hear it.

Before coming back to his penthouse they had also stopped at the mall.

She sighed and waited for him to get out. "Christian," she dragged the word out as she yelled, "it has been half an hour since you have been in there. I was ready in twenty minutes!"

"Beauty takes time." And she heard the hair dryer start running.

"Ugh," she groaned. He was going to take longer.

*****

By the time he was ready, Grace had fallen asleep and now he was carrying a grumpy woman in his car.

And it was awful.

"Take a left." She mumbled.

"Why?" He asked, glancing at her. If anything he knew the destination to which they were to go and so did his driver.

She blinked, "I don't know." She grumbled.

He chuckled. Fuck it, she was too cute, especially when grumpy like a little baby.

Christian had made to take a driver with him for tonight because today he was not returning sober and Grace won't be able to handle him.

Which was exactly what happened.

He was grinding against a girl as she watched from the bar. It was arranged in a club and she was sitting where she could get a drink.

"You look nice." A comment came right beside her ear and she turned immediately.

"Liam," she smiled at the friend from college, "What are you doing here?"

"Me? You are never seen around the parties." He chuckled, "Did he drag you here?" He pointed to the man who was surrounded by girls. If his name was not known, then his looks were enough.

"No," she shook his her and also, didn't like the tone he had taken Chris' name with. "Anyway, you don't need to stay here with me. You can enjoy it with your friends." She gave him a small smile. Loneliness was an old friend.

"Yeah?" He muttered as he kept on glancing at the pair and Grace did not miss it. "I came with a girl."

"Ohhh," she understood and offered, "I can check the washrooms, if you like—"

"She's the one who's kissing him."

"—oh boy," she shut up immediately at the interruption.

Both of them watched as the couple in front of them made out. Grace had to look in front because she could not look at Liam and avoided any kind of looking at him. At this moment it was too awkward.

"Won't you stop him?" He addressed her and looked at her, making her do it too.

She shook her head. Why would she? It was Liam's girlfriend. "She came with you. It was her choice."

Her logic in this situation was simple. Christian did not force the girl to dance with him which is why she would not hold him responsible for it. It was the girl's decision to dance with him and she had taken advantage of a choice to decide for herself.

Liam did not comment, rather she felt him turn and do something behind her back. She did not look.

"Here," a glass came in front of her. Liam was the one holding it. "You should finish your drink."

She glanced at the coke, the ice was melted already but as someone who was in the food industry Grace could not bear the fact that she was about to waste something. She took it from him, thanking him as she took a sip of it.

It tasted weird, like really weird and she doubted if it was even coke. Was it expired? She thought with a grimace but held it in. Maybe, an in house recipe?

"Coke's the best, no?" Liam spoke and she noticed his eyes twinkled.

"Yeah," she rasped, feeling something in the back of her throat. It had to be expired to taste this off.
