Synopsis
“You will have to marry me and bear me a child.”  “What the fuck?!” Logic flew out of the window when Grace heard him say that. “Excuse me, what did you just say?”  Maybe, she was the one who had heard him wrong. It could have been anything except marrying him and giving him a child.  “You heard me,” Christian tsked, “but I’ll repeat it. Marry me and have my child.”  Her mouth opened and gaped at me. In her mind, she was trying to make sense about what was going on. How in the world had it come to be? What in the world could make the situation come to this?!  “No?” Grace replied, but then realized that the word was not firm enough. “No.” she said again. Christian frowned, and it seemed so innocent like he had not asked her the most unbelievable thing. “Why not? I thought you wanted to help me. You offered.”  “I offered my help, my brain, my support not my,” she hesitated, “stomach!”  What was the word for it? “Womb,” he provided.  “Yes!” She slapped her hand on the table. “You don’t get my womb!”   “I don’t?” He challenged.  “No!”  “What if helping me out means Lorelai coming out of a coma?”  Grace felt her heart drop. “What?”  Christian nodded. “What if helping me out, agreeing to what you have to do for me, means bringing your grandmother out of the, that she is in?”  ******** Grace  was one strong girl and with the people she put her trust in, that was only a small number, she knew she could conquer the world, or at least she thought to herself.  When her best friend proposed a deal that could change their lives, she made a decision that was going to be mutually beneficial to both of them.  But one renovation led to many and everything has been just a game, a manipulation from him. Everything was full of deceit, lies, planning and plotting against her. Every single thing, right down the fact that only he had been her friend…  Everything was a lie and she had been living it, willingly.  Tropes; Friends to lovers, office romance, best friends, frenemies, marriage of convenience, possessive villainous and morally gray heroes!

Chapter 1 - Graduation party - I

"I'm so tired," Grace sighed tiredly yet she continued to knead the dough. It was Monday morning and people were going to come in craving sweety goodness. So, she had to make sure that she had everything for at least the first half.

Working tirelessly for another two hours Had resulted in batches of cupcakes, pastries, doughnuts along with freshly baked bagels all of which was going to disappear when the morning rush hour is going to come in. She would have to go all over it again for lunch.

"Good morning Grace!" A joyful voice was heard and entered her cook, Maria. "Oh my god, did I not tell you to wait?" She scowled at the work already done.

Grace shook her head, waving it off. "It's graduation day. I was nervous because I could not sleep, which is why I ended up baking everything."

Maria's eyes brightened, "I guess I almost forgot about your graduation day. Please tell me you are going to a party?"

Party? Grace's eyes widened. Her and parties were a big no, no.

"I'll see," she said instead, keeping the heart of the young woman. "I won't be in till late evening, maybe."

"Don't worry," Maria waved her off, "I'll close the shop tonight and open tomorrow too. Now go."

Grace giggled at her excitement. Maria had never gone to college herself and was excited to know everything that Grace Could tell her about it.

Grace took off the apron and dusted herself. She was careful enough to not open the hair cap in the kitchen and did it when she was outside the shop.

She turned to look at it, her successful bakery shop which would belong to a now graduated Grace.

Changing was easy, pinterest helped her a lot. With new heels and a gorgeous dress. She was ready.

A long honk was heard and a smile came to her face. He was here.

She made sure to lock the apartment and checked her phone and wallet. Within seconds she was in his car.

"Hi Baby," the handsome man of twenty-two greeted her and a shy smile came to her face

"Hi, Christian." She replied. He looked good. "Grandma?" he asked for hers and she shrugged.

"I went to meet with her yesterday but she had pains after the surgery so they Had to drug her. It's decided that I can meet her tomorrow when she wakes up. the nurse would give me a call." she answered and he left it there.

"Ready to be a graduate?" He kissed her head as a daily Ritual before they drove down the road and today University. It did not take them long because Christian was a ruthless and careless driver. Grace had held on to her seat belt for dear life.

He left the conversation of a grandmother there. If anything Christian knew well when to start a topic and where to leave it alone.

"A party," he begged all of a sudden, "please babe. We are graduating just once we need to go to the after party." He begged and Grace shook her head no.

"You can go," she offered, "but I won't go to a party." She glanced around. Everyone had someone from their family for the event of graduation. For Grace and Christian, it was no one but them for each other.

"Please, please, please," he smashed her face into his chest with a tight hug.

"Say it." She ordered but her voice came out as something muffled.

He sighed and let her pull away. "Fine, Dad said I can attend the graduation party if you come along." He pouted and the grown man still managed to look hot.

The last party had ended up in Christian in a jail cell which is why his father had asked her responsible-self to be with his irresponsible son.

"Just an hour." She gave up eventually with a sigh. "just one hour."

"And a half?" He asked with a bit of hope.

She glared at him. "Don't even think about bargaining!"

He immediately kissed her cute nose. "Fine, let's go. We'll have lunch and then I'll have you get dressed."

"I walked into that one?" She asked herself with a twisted face. How?

His wink was the evidence she needed. She had walked into that one.

Oh well, what could go wrong with one party which symbolised the end of graduation?

One party with her best friend that she may have a small, well major, crush on?
