Chapter 3 - 5. Why did you fall from the sky?

"Sniff…Sniff"

A sweet and warm smell wafted in the air.

'Smells delicious.' A girl lying on a small low bed mumbled in her sleep. She could feel her stomach giving out low cries and rumbles of hunger.

'So hungry..' A shiny drool fell from the corner of her mouth as she unconsciously started chewing on something, something that was not even there in her mouth.

'Wait---hunger? Why am I feeling hungry?' Knitting her brows in a wrinkle he felt something was wrong.

She was a goddess, an immortal cultivator who did not feel hungry, thirsty or had need of any other materialistic needs but..

Right now she was feeling hungry, she was enticed by the sweet aroma of the smell that wafted in her nose and even dreamt of eating something.

This was a scandalous and preposterous issue in all three realm; Demon realm, Earth Realm and the Heavenly Celestial realm.

If the news of the goddess of war feeling hungry spread throughout the realm she would not be able to show her face to anyone, especially not her followers. She thought wondering why she was feeling hungry all of sudden.

'Ru-Ru might know the answer.' Her heart warmed at the thought of her familiar, a fox spirit that had been with her since the beginning.

'Ru-Ru…Come here!!' She tried summoning the cutie but there was not even a movement inside her sea of consciousness.

~~When you lose your divine power, I will also cease to exist...…~~~~

The tiny voice of Ru-Ru had spoken to her before she completely disappeared in thin air.

"RU-RU!!!"

The war goddess opened her eyes and got up from where she was lying down, her eyes filled with tears to brim.

Her yelling was sharp and loud enough to alarm a middle-aged man who was cooking warm soup in the kitchen next door.

"W-What happened??" Wearing an apron and carrying the ladle he ran inside the bedroom where he had kept the girl.

.

.

The war goddess clutched her hair in a handful of cluster as she shut her eyes in pain, the images from the heavenly imperial court rushing through her memory like a high speed train.

She remembered. She finally remembered everything.

She was stripped of her divinity and cultivation and thrown to the mortal world so that she could search for her lover, the god of destruction.

******

"What happened?"

Her chain of thoughts stopped when another voice spoke in the room she was in. Lifting her head she looked at the man who was looking at her huffing, his breathe unnaturally heavy.

She stared warily at the pink flowery apron he was wearing and the strange looking weapon he was carrying.

"This---.." The war goddess who had travelled the mortal world in spirit form before knew what kind of person they were.

Heavily breathing…check.

Apron and flowery print….check..

Sleazy looking man of late forties…check..

Flushed cheek…check

The fact he was looking at her like that…check..

"A pervert!!!!" She shouted pointing at the man, her eyes widened in shock and disbelief at his impudence and insolence.

The middle-aged man who was a asthma patient and even running a short distance could make him lose his breathe making it hard to breathe looked at the girl with "...….." expression.

"Wait, I am not a pervert.." He advanced near her to clear up the misunderstanding.

But the woman was not in the mood to listen to his explanation.

"Take this…yaaaa.." She threw what she found near her hand at the man using her full strength but luckily it was a stuffed doll; a yellow and brown mixed teddy bear.

The man who easily caught the teddy bear as if he was playing a game of catch with her: "...…"

Seeing his hands occupied she knew it was her chance to escape from the evil clutches of the pervert.

She directly got up from the bed to confront him with any kind of weapon she could find.

But that single throw cost her all of her energy. She felt dizzy and her head spin a 360 degree around or two making her fall down on her knees leaving a short gasp of pain.

"Hiss…" She gritted her teeth and clenched her palm into a fist to endure the pain. She the goddess of War could never show her weakness before a puny mortal.

The man threw away the teddy bear he was holding and rushed to help her up.

"Hey, young lady…You are not okay…get some rest." He caught her by her arm to lift her up in the bed but was rudely swatted away by the girl.

She was like a wounded tiger right now, so it was probably best not to touch her right now. The man concluded in his heart.

But he still looked at the girl who was sweating profusely and it looked as if she was in real pain.

He wondered if he should take her to hospital. He was about to call an ambulance for her when a rumbling sound caught his attention.

"Rumble~~~~~...Rumble~~~~"

A loud noise emitted from her stomach once again. His gaze shifted to her stomach.

Her both hands that were clutching her head suddenly shifted to clutching her stomach to prevent it from producing further the sounds of hunger.

It was an embarrassment.

She wished she could just dig a hole in the garden and bury herself but she neither had shovel nor a garden to execute her plan.

"Hahahaha…" The man laughed at her reaction.

"You should have told me that you were hungry…Tch…I would have made something real quick for you."

The man laughed knowing that the girl was not injured or sick rather she was hungry like as if she had not eaten for more than a century.

***A few moments later..

The war goddess looked warily at the man and at the food with a suspicious doubt. There was a large serving of Ramyeon on a large porcelain bowl of white marble.

The smell was too good and she could hear her stomach crying out for food.

"I haven't poisoned it or anything." The man looked at her still doubtful face and decided to be a food taster himself.

"Slurp~~~~"

Taking a mouthful of noodles with a loud slurping sound he gave a thumbs up sign.

The war goddess was not still satisfied but her mortal necessities came pressing at her and before she knew she too was gobbling the noodles like she had never eaten anything in her whole life.

But she really hadn't eaten anything related to food as gods and deities lived off on prayer and incenses stick burnt for them.

The man looked at the young girl heartily enjoying her lunch with a satisfied grin.

"Hey.." He called her from where he stood.

"Hmmmm…" With noodles still inside her mouth she raised her eyes to look at him.

"I am Shen Ziling." He introduced his name.

"Hmmm…Okiiy.."

The war goddess nodded her head as approval of his name. She was too busy with her noodles. Her lack of reaction did not anger him since he had an important matter to confirm about the girl's identity.

"You.." he grabbed her attention by just staring at her.

"Why did you fall from sky?"
