The only time he had seen such a level of battle take place was when a group of herds of the night gyxes had encountered a pack of armoured scale-tailed beast, and the ending results resulted in their corpses, which towered up to hundreds.
It seemed that the group of devils has been having strokes of bad luck, as their path meant that they were caught in missed of it.
And, the fact that he found severed limbs at both locations also proved that both battles were life-threatening. Coming up to the conclusion that they might still be injured and exhausted, Elijah headed straight for the group, attempting to catch up to them like a wolf hunting after its prey.
After all, an injured opponent is a weakened prey and considering, they were individuals who brutally killed anything in their path as they advanced through the forest, Elijah went prepared because as an outsider in a forbidden land, they might as well be his foes.
Bang!!
A sudden force collided with Elijah who was currently making his way to catch up to the suspected group.
Although he had sensed a demonic beast on the path ahead of him, he still didn't think that it would attack him directly, trying to knock him out with brute force.
But even though such actions were unexpected, Elijah still managed to avoid it, by grabbing its horn and performing a stunning somersault in the air.
Landing with his back facing the ground, Elijah could only twist his body, as he suddenly curved his legs rolling on the ground as he used the momentum to collide with a tree that blocked his path to come to a sudden halt.
But the demonic beast wasn't so lucky, as it crashed head-first into a boulder, resulting in a 'bang' as it struggled to unearth its horns from the huge rock.
Elijah stood up as he dusted his clothes for dirt. The fact that he still wore the same clothes since the day he came here from the earth was slightly uncomfortable for a boy trapped in a wilderness.
But that didn't mean he mean he kept them dirty, as he would wash them every day. Well, that is when he gets a chance, as he wouldn't put on clothes that were soaked in dried blood. As his enhanced sense of smell made the situation even more unbearable.
Though he still managed to switch off his enhanced senses, controlling his body in this type of way was quite an unfamiliar process for him.
Knowing how to do it and doing it were two different things as he still had to get used to the feeling practically.
Some habits from earth were had to stop, and going on for hours in a sweaty, smelling attire was a big 'no'.
Coming face to face with the demonic beast that had obstructed his path, Elijah cracked his knuckles as a grey smoke of unknown origin began to surround his hands.
The beast standing before him looked somewhat like a rhino, except that it didn't possess a horn in between its nostrils, but instead, its horn could be found on its forehead like that of a unicorn.
Its body was two times the size of a normal rhino, and its teeth were replaced with sharp rows of carnivorous fangs. Stomping one of its front hooves to the ground, the demonic beast wasted no time as it charged at Elijah one more time.
Like seriously, what was this?
Elijah had no intentions of getting dragged into a fight, as he was currently in a hurry to make sure he caught up with the group of devils he had been tracking.
Avoiding the demonic beast would be an option if he hadn't been chased by a herd of sleiphers some months ago.
Wasting no time as the grey like smoke began to take shape. The grey smoke didn't hover around aimlessly as it did before, instead, it converged together, forming what looked like a claw. A tiger's claw.
This move was something Elijah had learned after achieving an intermediate stage in the formless palm technique, and it also allowed Elijah hands to take the shape of anything he could think of.
Of course, it didn't mean that Elijah could shape-shift his hands into an elephant's toenails, a hammer or a pig's hoof. But instead, he could transform his hands with beasts that bore a similar resemblance to a human hand, even though it possessed a 1 percentage of resemblance.
It didn't matter whether those claws belonged to a lion, an ape or a bear, as long as there was a slight possibility that it possessed a little bit of human skeletal characteristics, Elijah could basically modify his hand to replicate them -not perfectly, but still perfect enough to be quite lethal.
Only the skeletal structure of his hands would change before his muscles, veins and tissues follow suit. His hands won't gain a suddenly increases if he wanted to take the shape of a bears paw.
Because the grey-like smoke would transform to match the characteristics his hands had taken the form of, and whether or not he could stay in such a way for a longer period depends on Elijah's abilities.
And that was why the 'Broken mrtyu magicraft' needed the user to change its entire hand structure because such a process wasn't something just anyone could endure.
Elijah didn't know how to put it in words either, so he didn't even bother trying. After all, there was no need in trying to understand the concept of magic in the ways of science.
Nevertheless, it was this very priceless magicraft that had increased his chances of survival to a highly favourable rate.
Elijah's thought became slightly disrupted as he met with the silver horned rhino head-on. Using the increased momentum he had running towards the demonic beast, Elijah used his other hands to dig into its eyes. As it had transformed differently from his right hand.
His hand on his left arm was stuck together like glue, each fingers sticking to each other as his nails grew sharper, longer, and harder.
