ROOOAAARRRR!!!!!
Hearing the pain-filled roar of an 8th tier primitive demonic beast caused Cahira to tense up as she felt as though the beast was just behind her. Which was a lie, as she looked ahead only to see the crimson ape and old man Bael going on a full out brawl. Both seemed to be concluding their battle.
Cahira wanted to head over there and be of help to them, but she was not a fool. Although she could be quite hot-headed at times and considering she was currently the weakest among the four ascendants, she was in no mood to make a fool of herself.
The plan was already perfectly laid out, and if she could perfectly accomplish it and also prevent more deaths at the same time, she would happily see it through the end.
......
Raising his huge war axe, old man Bael cut through the fiery hands of the crimson ape, a feat that could be only accomplished by a high ranked artefact like the sitting shattering axe. The already mad crimson ape that had already gone insane, was already sensing his strength sipping out of his body little by little. And so in a deranged state of madness, it started attacking from all directions, attempting to strike his prey from all sides.
But unfortunately, old man Bael was a hardened battle veteran and such rash action with uncoordinated battle precision was enough for him to strike down the crimson ape.
As he suddenly appeared behind it, sending his axe as it moved through the air cutting through it, until it reaches the nape of the crimson ape, applying more force behind the attack, as it broke through the defences of the crimson ape, cutting through to its other side.
Thud!!
At this moment the only sound that could be heard was the head of the crimson ape landing on the ground. Looking at the strongest of their herd laying on the ground be-headless, as its blood spilt on the earth, the other herd of the demonic crimson apes took off in fear that their attackers would be after them as their next prey.
Making their way through the forest as their voices echoed through the forest as though mourning the death of their leader.
Looking at the departing herd of crimson apes, Pergan and Laim breathed a sigh of relief as even though the crimson apes were weak, they were still demonic beasts and that enough was a reason to prepare for anything if the plan suddenly went south.
But fortunately, it did, but their preparation was already complete with a 90 per cent chance of them killing the leader of the crimson apes. So, they charged in without knowing which other variable they would encounter as the demonic crimson ape beasts rained down from the trees as though they had been waiting for an ambush.
Even though they were still overwhelmed, they each had a very latent poison smeared on their weapons, even old man Bael did so on his too.
But even though his injuries had not been fully healed, they still had enough medical herbs to allow him to participate in one more battle, before he runs out of steam.
But that was also an added equation to their success, as surely without him there, they would had died with even their bodies being left in pieces.
Liam began to shiver as he thought about what would have happened if old man Bael had met his end during the last attack, but a sweet smile formed on his lips as he thought about the accomplishment of the mission and the rewards that came it.
......
Pulling out a dagger-like tooth from the carapaces of a fallen demonic beast, Elijah stood with a calm expression on his face as he revolves the yin energy around his body through his magic veins, as wisps of black strings emerged from the dead sleiphers.
The wisps of black strings slowly made their way through his magic veins as it was slowly absorbed into his yin core. Considering that the forbidden land was already riddled with corpses that were filled with yin and coupled with the fact that the underworld was a place filled with demonic energy which meant denser yin energies which are above normal levels was quite helpful to Elijah as his current goal was also to fill up his yin core as much as his mana core.
As the black strings slowly dispersed as though they were merely illusions, that didn't exist in the first place, Elijah steadily made his way through the dense plantations of the forest. Although he had been chased by some herd of sleiphers some weeks back, Elijah had seriously underestimated their resolve to avenge their fallen brothers.
Well, it seemed that this particular group of demonic beasts took kinship to a very dangerous level.
But wasn't that great? It looks like you can still learn something new every day, even with the knowledge you thought you already possess.
Well, considering he has an encyclopedia of every demonic beast that had existed currently arched into his mind, the first-hand experience was still undoubtedly better, as he thought so while been chased through the forest for a whole two weeks.
And considering the time it would take to kill all of them at once, made him butcher the stronger ones first. Well, if that is another way you could choose to call it!
And then, he proceeded to have a battle royal with the rest of the weaker ones considering there were still 3rd tier and 4th tier primitive beasts, which were quite weak for Elijah as he had already entered the 5th tier while making progress on both his skills and magicraft.
But, that was all there was to it.
Ascend to the next level, hunt, kill, eat, sleep. And repeat the same process all over again.
Elijah had been trying to make sense of this world, but with the 'Golden codex', a name he came up for the item he received from Deltirch, considering he can't keep on calling it the 'Golden book' which sounded quite lame.
