Chapter 26 - A soul for slaughter (2)

Stopping Cahira from making any irrational move. Old man Bael noticed the presence of a much stronger demonic beast, his senses screaming at him as he noticed the severity of the situation.

He couldn't accurately detect where it was, however, a sudden movement came from Boris who was still persisting began to raise his head as he looked up at a tree.

Following his line of sight to the direction Boris was looking at, Old man Beal directly pinpointed one of the demonic beast signatures which were at the top of a tree branch.

Grabbing his war axe from behind, old man Bael immediately rushed to Boris's side, with a speed which that of Cahira couldn't even hope to match. Swinging down his axe with minimal effort as he had down so a thousand times already, old man Bael watched as his axe clashed with that of the claws of the demonic beast, like that of metal hitting metal.

Boris who had waited for death was stunned when he saw the fangs of the beast had been blocked by a familiar weapon. He just watched as the claws were deflected by an axe. Immediately, Boris turned his head only to see the figure of that of old man Bael.

Although he couldn't understand why the old man Bael was still here when he had bought enough time for them to pick another route? Turning back his head, he saw the other members of the group, whom he thought had already escape deep into the forest, were fighting some remnant night gyxes.

He saw no way out of this situation, although he trusted the old man's strength, he had already given up on life so whether or not his prospects of survival had been increased by a margin, he still didn't hold much hope, and could only watch as the scenes unfold before him.

The demonic beast facing old man Bael currently is facing is a 7th tier primitive demonic beast, and although old man Bael is a tier 8 lesser ranked devil himself, he still dared not taking this beast lightly. Because coupled with insanely razor-sharp claws and scale-like amour that covered its body, it also wielded extremely enhanced senses that rapidly developed its chance of survival.

The reason he waited for an opportunity, was because it was vastly different from any other primitive beast, as it was superior in every way. And because he had already felt other presence of the same demonic beast within the range of his senses.

Therefore concluding the beast wasn't on its own, as it might be its pack, meaning that they were more of them. That was why he was having a hard time keeping track of their positions.

Old man Bael immediately looked for an opening and got ready to strike while keeping his senses heightened to the maximum. Cause any fatal error could lead to the end of his life

He wasn't worried about the primitive night gyxes, as they were relatively easy to deal with, but the fact that that he was currently being locked down by a few more beasts equal to the one he was currently facing, filled him with distress as he decided to end the fight immediately.

Golden arc!!

Old man Bael activated his hereditary bloodline technique, thereby increasing the strength of his attack, he easily sliced through the thick scales of the armoured scale tailed beast. As his axe sent golden arcs of light as it collided with the skin of the demonic beast.

'Bang'

The demonic beast was suddenly blow off as its body crashed into a tree, with a deep gnash imprinting itself on the scales of its body, blood trickled down from the cut as the armoured scale tailed beast got back to its feet, but its expression only grew fiercer.

Although old man Bael used the same bloodline technique as that of Boris, he carried more destructive power. Since he was in a higher tier than Boris, thus possessing more magical power, made it seem like comparing the both of them, was like comparing a stone to that of a boulder.

Unlike Boris, old man Bael's war axe increases his physical damage by over 4 per cent. That was why it was his most prized possession, coupled with his hereditary bloodline inheritance, that allowed old man Bael to inflict such an attack that the beast couldn't take head-on.

Sprinting back towards him at full speed, old man Bael watched as its scorpion-like tail stretched out in a zig-zag manner.

Golden radiance!!

Immediately executing the technique which would stun the opponent within a few seconds, old man Bael dashed out towards the incoming beast as he activated another technique to put an end to the beast.

Golden judgement!!!

''ploh''

The armoured scale tailed beast fell to the ground, as its breath sized as a low groan escaped from its jaws.

But, even though the beast laid dead on the ground, old man Bael still didn't feel at ease as two more armoured scale tailed demonic beasts, each both ranked at the 7th tier and 8th tier primitive beast rank, jumped down from the trees one after the other.

Judging that these were the other packs of the demonic beast he had just killed, old man Bael adjusted his position as he got into an offensive stance.

His war axe was brought to his chest area as his legs were several feet apart, looking like he could take off at any minute while still maintaining a defensive position.

The two armoured scale tailed beasts dashed towards him, each launching a different attack. Sidestepping to the back, old man Bael pushed Boris who was behind him further away. Because their main purpose for coming here was to rescue Boris, so putting him in harm's way, would all be for nought.

He swung his axe, blocking the charge of the 8th tier armoured scale tailed primitive beast, but unfortunately, the strength behind the attack of old man Bael coupled with the fact that he was a tier 8 lesser ranked devil possessing a physical combat strength of about 70,400kg, coupled with his high ranked artefact which increases one's attack power by 4 per cent brought old man's Bael combat prowess to an outstanding 73,216kg.
